Uplawmoor Gala Run

There were lots of entrants from Uplawmoor Primary School for the 1k at the gala and we look forward to seeing their medals and  trophies at assembly.  A special WELL DONE goes to the 3k runners. There were only 2 school entrants for the 3k distance. Christopher Rae returned in 3rd place for the boys with a time of 12.58 And most especially Alex goldie who was our youngest entrant, she ran a determined race despite being up against girls much older than her – some in high school! Both runners were a credit to themselves and the school and we are very proud of them both.  Well done Alex and Christopher!

Neilston Show

A huge well done to Team Uplawmoor who represented our school at the annual Neilston Show.  They have trained hard in tug and relay over the past few weeks and we are proud of their positive attitude towards their training.

A special congratulations to the girls relay team (Carly, Toni,  Ashley, Mia, Mary- sub) who came first!  What a wonderful achievement.

School Meals Service

Here is a short video which illustrate how East Renfrewshire’s school meals service works on a daily basis.  This may be of interest to the parents of our new pupils joining us in August!

Bon appetit!

I’m starting a new club for children of all ages on Saturday mornings for children of all ages and would be grateful if you could tell the children and parents of your school.

The club is a drop in club where children will play lego and board games which will stimulate their brains and improve their focus and concentration. All lego and games are provided although children are welcome to bring their own.

Date: Every Saturday from 25th February

Time: 10.30 till 12

Venue: Voluntary Action Offices Barrhead

Cost: £3 per child. All welcome.

Official Opening

play-park

It was lovely to see so many people turn out for the official opening of the Uplawmoor Play Park.  Mrs McKay was delighted to be asked along to cut the ribbon.  Everyone had fun trying out the brand new equipment  especially Mia who said the old swings “squeaked”.  Mhairi said the new park was “awesone”.   We are sure it will be well used over the October Break.  We hope everyone has a great holiday and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday 24th October.

Community Council Donation

Uplawmoor Primary, would like to say thank you to Gordon Steel at the Community Council who came to school on Friday with a very kind monetary donation.  Mrs Black from our Fundraising Group and Mr Steel told us of the success of the recent quiz night which was held at the Mure Hall, so we would like to say a huge thank you on behalf of all at Uplawmoor Primary.
