A huge congratulations to Mrs Orr and P4/5 who have completed their Micro Tyco project and raised an astonishing £1489.67!
The money will be invested by a charity called Wildhearts to help the world’s poorest people work their own way out of poverty with dignity and self respect.
P4/5 would like to say a final thank you to all the friends, staff, pupils and parents who helped us raise such a large sum of money.
Well done to our five hard working children who have all earned themselves the title of Star Pupil!
Mrs Orr and Primary 4/5 would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who participated in their auction on Friday morning.
A large amount of money was raised and the pupils of Uplawmoor thoroughly enjoyed the experience of a live auction!
The boys and girls of Uplawmoor had the pleasure of attending a movie afternoon at the Mure Hall as part of Primary 4/5’s Micro Tyco enterprise topic.
The whole school enjoyed popcorn and snacks and settled down to a screening of ‘Bugsy Malone’. A big thank you to the parents who gave up their time to ensure the event ran smoothly. We look forward to the ‘Skills’ auction on Friday which will raise even more money for a wonderful cause. Well done P4/5!
The boys and girls of Uplawmoor Primary entertained the audience with song, dance, story telling and drama on Friday afternoon. A huge well done to all the competitors who recited a Burns poem or sang one of his songs. We had such a great afternoon and we hope all the parents and friends did too.
Ashley and Toni are Uplawmoor’s dancing stars!
They showed off their dancing medals and told us all about the pressure of doing dancing exams.

A huge well done to the pupils of Primary 4/5 who peformed a superb learning assembly about the sinking of the Titanic. The children researched a variety of passengers who lost their lives on board the great ship and read their stories to the audience in an emotional and touching manner.
Good job P4/5.
Primary 6/7 would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents, staff and friends who purchased a Welcome to Uplawmoor DVD from us. 
We raised £58 and we are delighted to announce we were able to purchase a tripod for the school. We would like to personally thank Eva’s dad, Matt, who sourced a fantastic deal for us.
We have already used our tripod to record our performance with Pace!
Team Uplawmoor have triumphed again! On Friday Niamh, Tiana, Rob and Shannon represented our school in the Intergenerational Quiz held in Paisley. Along with their ‘wiser’ friends they managed to beat off the competition to come overall first place – winning by 2 clear points.
What a fantastic achievement! We are all very proud of you.

Primary 6/7 took a trip to Glasgow’s City Chambers as part of their Mock Court Case topic. They learned about civil law and gained some insight into the different roles and responsibilities of those who work in law.
To gain further understanding for our own court case, the children also listened to experts talk about taxes, mobile phone contracts and how to design a barrister’s robe. Megan-Jane was picked to model an actual gown used in court!
“Our case is about a lady called Mrs Telfer and she hasn’t paid her mobile phone bill to the company ‘Talk and Text’. There are different jobs for us like witnesses, lawyers, gown makers and artists.” Amy Cupples P6

Miss Dawson-Bowman’s Eco Committee set the boys and girls a challenge to design an Eco-friendly poster. Each class had an eco subject to focus on, such as, recycling or saving energy.
The Eco committee judged each entry and decided on the winning posters from each class (see below).
The winers were Ruby, Alexander, Cameron, Megan-Jane and Shannon.
These posters will be professionally printed and displayed on the ‘Eco Wall’ in our gym hall. The standard was so high that Miss Dawson-Bowman announced there will be awards for runners up.
Well done to our winners and all who took part.

A big well done to Cameron, Cayla, Eva and Niamh who received Star Pupil awards for great work in maths, problems solving, writing and time management skills.
Megan-Jane, Amy, Carly and Mikey all shared their acheivements this week. We have new Guides, fabulous writers and even a star horse rider!
