RRS Day of Action Friday 30th September
St Thomas’ Primary is having a Rights Respecting Schools’ Day of Action on Friday 30th September in which all pupils will take part. The aim is to celebrate diversity and to raise awareness of the United Nations “Global Goals” and how everyone, however young they are, needs to take part to realise these Goals.
As part of our RRS Day of Action, the children are invited to wear something blue, own clothes, and in so doing contribute £1 towards school funds.
A letter with all information has been sent home to families today. This letter is also available under ‘letters and newsletters’ tab.
Care Leavers Week
Please click here to read information regarding Care leavers week running from 21st to 29th of October. These events will be run by the Youth Intensive Support Team and have been jointly planned by staff and young people. There are a number of events running over the week.
Tesco ‘Bags of Help’ Funding…WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
Tesco has teamed up with Groundwork on its Bags of Help initiative across Scotland. The scheme will see three community groups and projects awarded grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag charge. greenspace scotland are working with Groundwork to support Scottish communities.
Bags of Help offers community groups and projects in each of Tesco’s regions across the UK a share of revenue generated from the 5p charge levied on single-use carrier bags.
The public will now vote in store from 26 September to 9 October on who should receive the £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 awards. In total, there is over £12.5 million up for grabs.
