Seasons Greetings from the Performing Arts Department
Here are some of our talented pupils performing to raise money for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Central Station on Tuesday 18th December
A massive total of £451.01 was collected- what an amazing achievement
Massive congratulations to all pupils involved both on stage, backstage and front of house. The concert was absolutely fabulous and as one parent said – ‘it keeps getting better and better’. Well done and House Points for all involved.
Mearns Castle took part in the Scottish Concert Band Festival today at Inveralmond Community High School.
The Junior Concert Band took part in the Achieving School Band Class along with five other schools and the Senior Concert Band took part in the Advance School Band Class along with James Young High School Senior Wind Band.
The Junior Concert Band achieved a Silver award and the Senior Concert Band achieved a Bronze award. Click here for more information about the competition.

Tickets for the Winter Concert are still on sale at £3 each at intervals and lunchtimes. They sell out really quickly so avoid being disappointed by ensuring that you get your tickets as soon as possible.
Mearns Castle’s Winter Concert takes place on Monday 3rd December.
Application forms for all the National Youth Orchestras and Choirs are now available. Closing date is Jan 2013.

After a highly successful London Theatre trip in June this year, Miss Borland is now in a position to offer a London Theatre Trip for June 2013. The trip will be packed full of London tourist activities as well as two West End Performances of Musicals.
Initially this trip is open to pupils in S4-S6 who are on colour. If you are interested please collect an information letter from Miss Borland in the music department ASAP. Places are limited to 40 so you must hurry!
Applications are now invited for any pupil who would like to audition for the WSSO. You must be around Grade 6 level.
