Developing The Young Workforce

An ambition of Developing the Young Workforce is that education and employers will work closely together to equip all young people with the skills and knowledge they will need to flourish in the workplace.  Working closely with our Parent Council, we are keen to develop business partnerships with businesses and companies to help us develop the employability skills of our pupils and help to prepare them for the world of work.

Information has been sent out to all parents and carers to ask for their support with this initiative.  Click here to see the letter and here to see further information about Developing the Young Workforce.

Civil Engineering Scholarship Fund

Please find below information regarding a scholarship fund which has been set up through the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Scotland with the aim of removing the cost of a student loan preventing anyone from studying civil engineering. This is the result of a donation to the Institution by a retired solicitor.

Four awards of £4000 per year for young people aged 21 and under living in Scotland are made to allow them to study in Scotland. The award is open to full-time or part-time students as well as apprentices or students on day or block release from an employer. Each successful candidate receives £4000 per year for a maximum period of four years.

The closing date for applications is 31 March for courses beginning from September this year.

Application forms and details can be found on the ICE Scotland website at www.ice.org.uk/near-you/uk/Scotland/awards#into_civilengineering
