Junior choir is still on EVERY Tuesday lunchtime in C3 and with the concert fast approaching (April 1st) it is important that you attend rehearsals.
Athletics
Scottish Schools Cross Country Championships
Congratulations to all the runners who took part on Saturday at a very windy Irvine! All runners competed exceptionally well with some truly outstanding performances against the best runners in the country.
Special mention must go to Nikki Miller who cam second in the Girls’ Group C race and Holly Still who came 4th in the Girls’ Group B race.
Both girls have now been chosen to represent Scotland in the forthcoming Home International in Bolton on the 22nd March. Congratulations to both girls.
Curling
MCHS Curlers have played their qualifiers for the Scottish Schools Competition and won 2 out of 3 games. They have now qualified for the finals at Murrayfield ice rink on 14-16th March.
Well done to Carolyn Baird, James Strang and Mairi and Heather McDonald. They all played really well and the parent coaches tell me they were very proud of their team.

Senior Concert Band – Auditions
From the start of June there will be some spaces available on the following instruments for Senior Concert Band – Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, French Horn and Percussion.
Any pupil who is at Grade 3/4 standard and who would like to audition should speak to Miss Borland asap.
Easter School
Reminder to all S4, S5 and S6 pupils that Easter School forms should be submitted to the school office as soon as possible.
Also online payments require to be made no later than Monday 24 March.
Bronze Duke of Edinburgh

There will be a meeting on Thursday 13th March at 12.30 in room E2. All successful applicants must attend.
Senior Boys Inter-House Football Competition
Just a reminder that the 4th match will be played this Friday after school. Spectators are welcome, so please come along and support your team.
Young Football Journalist Competition 2013/14
The final report for the 8 finalists is due to be submitted to Mr Murphy by Monday 31st March. The report MUST be on the Partick Thistle v Aberdeen game that we attended on Saturday 22nd February. It should be within the 500 word limit and if possible be word processed (If you do not have access to home computer or printer then please see me in PE Dept so that I can arrange access for you).
There will be two winners – S1/S2 winner and S3 winner. Winners will receive £25 gift vouchers for Silverburn.
