Head Boy/ Head Girl Applications 2018

The schedule for all applicants will be as follows;

Monday 4th June 2018 Closing date for applications for post(s)
Tuesday 5th June 2018 Nominations opened to staff
Wednesday 6th June 2018 (periods 5 & 6) Nominee speeches (all nominees)*
Thursday 7th June 2018 Candidates selected for Interview**
Monday 11th June 2018 Head Boy/ Head Girl Interviews
Monday 11th June 2018 Results announced and posted on school website

*All nominees are expected to make a speech at this time. Speeches will be attended by the S6 Year Group as well as staff and will take place in the dining hall periods 5 &6

**Candidates should check the S6 base for notification as to whether they have been selected for the final interview stage. Results will be posted by 2:30pm on Thursday 7th June.

Please note that in keeping with previous years there is a short timeframe. This is on account of several S6 events/ experiences taking place at this time and to ensure everyone who wishes to apply can do so.

S3- S5 Healthcare Weekend For Aspiring Doctors, Vets and Dentists

National Healthcare Careers Weekend and Partnering with Medic Mentor

Hundreds of healthcare professionals from across the UK will be volunteering to present and network with students who are interested in:

• Medicine
• Veterinary Medicine
• Dentistry

at our National Healthcare Weekends on the 16th and 17th June taking place at the University of Stirling!

Please note that these events are filling quickly!

It is a highly valuable opportunity for S3 – S5 students to network with a variety of healthcare professions, learn about work experience opportunities and how to make a successful application.

Registration is £25 for students on the Saturday conferences and there is an optional UCAS lecture available on Sunday for each specialty – for an outline of events on the weekend click here .

Please note teachers can attend for free, as well as students from low-income backgrounds.

All proceeds are used to support healthcare students with scholarships, elective bursaries, free training and educational initiatives.

We are looking for committed, dynamic young people to join our team as SCILT interns. This would see you using social media regularly and collaborating effectively with a team to demonstrate your love of languages and where they can take you, on a national, international and global level. This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to experience a professional work internship and enhance their sixth year at school.

Please note that interns will be home-based and the opportunity is open to young people across the country. Successful applicants must commit to attending a training day in Glasgow on Tuesday 12 June 2018.
