​Education Scotland is actively recruiting members of the public to join our school inspection teams as Lay Members.

 Lay Members take a particular interest in aspects of school life, including relationships between staff and pupils and schools’ partnerships with parents and the local community. You will spend one day in the school. You will make a positive and valuable contribution to improving Scottish education bringing a new perspective to our work. You will contribute to the overall work of a school inspection team, resulting in a published report for parents. The report identifies strengths and areas for improvement and help schools to improve the experiences and achievements of children and young people.

Vacancy – Apprentice Joiner

A local construction company currently has a vacancy for a motivated apprentice joiner to be part of their team. This role offers the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills and develop professionally.

The candidate must be willing to learn and have the ambition to progress as a skilled joiner. You’ll learn the job both onsite and by attending a locally approved college on a day release basis – you’ll be employed, earning and learning throughout the apprenticeship.

RSNO Young Ambassadors

Are you aged 16-21 and have a passion for all things classical music? We’d love you to join us as one of our RSNO Young Ambassadors for our 18-19 season.


Young Ambassadors are invited to attend forums throughout the season working alongside the RSNO team to debate the direction of youth engagement within classical music.  Ambassadors also gain work experience opportunities, receive free tickets for RSNO concerts and get the chance meet RSNO musicians and conductors.

Modern Apprentice Post – Housing

Based within Housing Services and the Business Support service, you will work within an office environment, gaining valuable experience whilst working towards a recognised qualification (SVQ Level 3).

Applicants should have a genuine interest in administration work. An interest in understanding how a Council works would be an advantage although not essential.

Applicants should be between age of 16 and 19 years.
