Westpoint Homes, a local housebuilder based in Clarkston have an exciting training opportunity for a school leaver with a strong interest in Accountancy to join our busy accounts team.
The position would be full time with study either at college, university or professional qualification e.g. AAT. This is the perfect opportunity to gain experience in the workplace plus gain a qualification at the same time.
We would be looking for someone to start in June and be ready to start studying in August/September this year.

A group of S3 and S4 girls enjoyed a morning at South Lanarkshire College last Thursday with taster sessions in Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Creative make-up. They were able to see demonstrations and try out the various techniques themselves.
City of Glasgow Colleges’ Nautical Faculty
Our Merchant Navy Open Day aims to give you an insight into what a career in the maritime industry has to offer and the training programmes necessary to qualify as a ship’s navigation or engineer officer in the merchant navy.
Many of the major British shipping companies and recruitment & training representatives who recruit cadets and crew will be there to give information about the career opportunities they offer.
You’ll be able to talk to our officer cadets, who’ll be happy to share their first-hand experience of the training and life as a cadet, both at the City of Glasgow College and on board ship.
A number of our training facilities are open and you’re welcome to tour the campus and accommodation nearby. Our working engine room will be running all day, giving you first-hand experience of a working engine room. Also, our bridge simulators will be working giving you the chance to experience piloting your own ship.

A leaflet detailing Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) levels can be accessed here.
This leaflet contains important information outlining the qualification levels and relevant progressions that can be achieved in school, college, university, youth clubs and the workplace.
Any pupil who is applying to start college in August 2015 can apply in IT room A15 period 5 on a Tuesday or Thursday during the month of January.

Any S6 pupil is welcome to get assistance with college applications each week in Jan and Feb.
Mondays 3 in Rm D13 and Tuesdays 5 in Rm D10.
