Thank you to everyone who came to Coffee & Chat this afternoon to find out more about the Mellow Parenting support group with Lindsey Macleod / Cockshott (clinical psychologist) and Rachel Tainsh (programme development officer with Mellow Parenting).

The final Parent Equalities Forum of this session will take place on Thursday 12 May in Mearns Primary School at 7pm.
This will take the form of a ‘showcase’ event with some schools presenting on the work they have been doing around equalities.
Classes Arran and Shetland worked together to present
their assembly to all the senior pupils this afternoon.
They presented a whistle-stop tour of Scotland with music and dance.
Another first for IMS…… the students from class Shetland
supported our Reels on Wheels group, to a great
cheer from everyone.
Class Arran presented Anthony with a thank you card for being a great peer mentor to his friends. Well done Anthony.

Mellow Parenting.
We are in the process of trying to develop a programme to help support parents with children with additional support needs and we
would welcome your views on some of our ideas.
We are Lindsey Macleod / Cockshott (clinical psychologist) and Rachel Tainsh (programme development officer with Mellow Parenting).
We both have children with additional support needs as well
as a good bit of professional experience in this area.
We are keen to work with Isobel Mair School and Family Centre
and other colleagues from East Renfrewshire Council to explore
ways of helping parents in the challenges they face in their
relationships with their children. If you would be willing to meet
with us for a coffee and a chat about this we would really
appreciate some feedback on our provisional plans. It would be
an informal get together and we would very much value your thoughts.

Delighted to have a visit from one of our ex pupils Daniel Forrest.
Daniel travelled independently from Greenock by public transport, train and bus to come say hello to all his old friends and staff.

Our Community Unity Treasure Trail is in full swing and the pupils are all keen to solve the clues.
Great collaborations taking place between the pupils from IMS and St Cadoc’s.

Good luck to everyone taking part in our Community Unity Spring Treasure Trail this morning.Tomorrow we welcome our Community Unity schools, St Cadoc’s and Crookfur primaries for a Spring Treasure Trail.
We look forward to seeing you all and hope the sun is shining.
Thank you to funding from the” Big Lottery Fund – Awards for All” we were able to provide some of our pupils with a week of fun, learning and amazing experiences.
Rachel from Everybody Dancing company spent the week with us providing the pupils with opportunities to move their body, be creative and communicate in a fun and engaging way.
Our final day ended with a showcase for parents and an evaluation of pupil progress.

This week classes Cumbrae and Arran have had the most amazing Aerial experiences with “EveryBODY Dancin”, Water Baby and Dirty Feet Dance companies.
It is incredible and everyone is raving about it!
It has been inspiring to see the pupils relax as the week has progressed and allow them the opportunity to experience dance in a creative and fun way.
Communication is a big part of the process and when the students from Dirty Feet dance company joined us on Wednesday they were looking at the pupils communication….. were they happy or sad? vocalising for more or did they want to stop.
Alongside the school staff they completed assessment sheets to show the progress of the IMS pupils communication during the sessions .
