What a wonderful week of World Book Day activities organised by Mrs Barron and Miss Dewhurst.
We’ve had storytelling, sensory story with Mrs Wako, visits to book stores and libraries. Our week finished with a whole school assembly and Miss Scrimgeour’s legendary quiz.
Thank you to everyone for participating in this years activities.
It’s been a busy week at IMS as we celebrate World Book Day.
All classes were invited to the Mod to browse and buy some of the books from Usbournes, their was a hype of activity as they made decisions of which books to buy for class.
Class Mull loved to look at all the books but it was such a hard decision to choose one to take back to class.
Clasd Arran had a lovely visit to Waterstones, Newton Mearns for a story telling session from the staff. Thank you for taking the time out to read us some stories. Our Head Boy Rob, was totally immersed in all the books and loved the stories. Olivia and Peter were delighted with the visual aids to support the stories.
Today is our World Book Day assembly with Miss Scrimgeour and her legendary quiz.
We are looking forward to seeing all our pupils and staff dressed up as their favourite story characters.
Thank You to everyone involved who helped make our World Book Day celebrations a huge success .
Every class embraced this celebration with a host of activities taking place throughout the week, with some extended into next week. Photos to follow.
Staffa and Jura had a great time on Tuesday, pancake day.
After they made their pancakes, they took their learning outdoors.
Think it’s fair to say they had a “flipping” good time.
Some of the fun learning experiences our pupils have participated in this week, in the classroom and outdoor learning.
Our P1 transitions from the Isobel Mair Family Centre have started. Social stories have been distributed to prepare the children for class visits and other resource areas.
Everyone had great fun exploring the adventure & sensory room and then a visit to the class to meet some new friends.
Thank you to Cassie, one of our Isobel Mair School graduates who visited the Thursday ISS@IMS group this afternoon.
Cassie chatted to the students about how she has completed supported colleges courses and is now on a fulltime beauty course.
She discussed what it’s like to be at college and the great support she got from staff and friends.
She offered beauty treatments to the girls and they were all delighted with their manicures.
Congratulations to Rachel Stoll, one of our senior pupils who has just received her 3 1/2st award.
We are all so proud of your achievements Rachel.

Class Staffa are so excited as they made an animation in class with Mrs McEwan and Miss Ross.
Today we welcomed Carol Gillespie, HMDT National Support Worker, Scotland as we marked Holocaust memorial Day.
This year Carol arranged for our visitor Saskia Tepe to share her story to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
Saskia has written a book about her mother’s remarkable story as she survived the holocaust and shared a question and answer session with some of our senior pupils before lighting the Holocaust Memorial Candle.
Good luck to some of our senior pupils who are heading off for the West of Scotland Cross Country event at Bellahouston park this morning.
