Prom 2016

Thank you to everyone who supported our prom last night to say farewell to our leavers.

It was a great night and everyone enjoyed the music from  DJ Sean ( Jonathan’s dad).

Thank you to our buddies who came to support our prom and help make it a success for the young people.

It was great to see so  many of our formers pupils and they loved dancing the night away or in Michael’s case – singing the night away.
He typed out his song request on his iPod touch and showed it to the DJ…… the power of communication!

Good luck to all our leavers and our doors will always be open for our legendary discos.

ISS@IMS visit to RCS

Mrs Laurie’s ISS@IMS pupils had an amazing time, when they participated in Drama workshops at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

They had great fun working with their tutors Thom and Robbie.  It was all about finding their voice and increasing confidence, all of which was achieved.

We would like to thank Mona Keeling for organising the fantastic workshops for us, and pupils hope to continue to work with the Conservatoire in the future.

Prom

Our Senior Prom will take place this evening, Thursday 23rd June at 7pm.

All former pupils are welcome

We look forward to seeing some buddies from Lochgoilhead and senior pupils who have volunteered throughout  the year.

Get ready to party………………………….

Happy Holidays

holidaysReminder that school closes at 1pm on Friday 24th June for summer break.

Extended school begins on Monday 27th June and closes Friday 8th July at 1pm

.Mrs Clark would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday.

Sports Cup

Thank you to Alex O’Donnell and his family for the donation and sponsorship of the Sports Cup.

As this was his last year at Isobel Mair , Alex and his family wanted to do something for the school and came up with the idea of awarding the sports cup to the person with the most outstanding achievement each year.

This is a lovely idea and will certainly be an incentive for the pupils to win the cup for all their achievements.

Farewell to our Leavers

Thank you to everyone who came to support our young people, who are leaving school this year at our Leavers’ Service at Newton Mearns Baptist Church.

Summer Outings

All of our classes have enjoyed their summer outings to end the term and celebrate the pupils moving onto new classes.

We have had visits to the Experience, Falkirk Wheel, beach, soft play centres and lots more.

This is the opportunity for the pupils to have fun and generalise the skills they have been learning throughout the year.

Bronze Award

Congratulations to Sara, Alex, Sophie, Amy and Stuart who all received their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award at the weekend.

This was the 2nd overnight camping stay that they took part in and also managed to 2 field walks. They had to cook their meals al fresco and coped remarkably well with the millions of midges…….. some more attracted than others!

Many thanks to our buddies and the DofE staff, Amy and Jim who supported our young people with the many challenges  over the weekend.

Well done to our LochG Explorers we are all so proud of you.

Wizard of Oz

Yesterday we had a summer treat in school to end the school year.

We were lucky to have a performance of Wizard of Oz from M and M  productions.

The pupils had a great time and engaged with the story and all the characters, even booing the witch!

Someone even though the scarecrow was crazy!

Oliver

Thank you to everyone who came to support our young performers during Stargaze Drama performance of Oliver last night at Eastwood Theatre.

The pupils were so excited to perform to a full house and I’m sure you will agree every single on of them were superstars.

Miss Antelmi, the director and all the children have all worked really hard during the run up to the performance.
The staff all give up their time to volunteer and make sure it’s a success for the children. From helping them learn their lines or dances to sewing patches on costumes.
