The Scottish Government has approved an extra in-service day in 2014/15 for primary school teachers. This additional in-service day will also apply to the pre-5 sector, thus allowing staff in both sectors to work together to support reflection on learning and practice and further embed CfE.

A reminder to all parents/carers to return the Extended School Year forms by close of school day ,Tuesday 10th June.
This is to allow us to organise class groups and staffing for the extended school year week beginning Thursday 25th June – Thursday 10th July .
You can also telephone the school or write in school diary to arrange a place for your child.
Congratulations to one of our senior pupils, Amy who took part in the Down Syndrome Gymnastics Competition at the weekend in Leicester.
Amy won an amazing 4 gold medals, 2 bronze and a trohpy for the National Junior Champion.
Amy won Gold for the following routines: club, ball, rythym and hoop.
Bronze medals were awarded for ball group routine and her own free routine.
We are all so proud of you Amy.
Amy has been selected to attend the World Special Olympics in Los Angeles next year and we are planning to help her fundraise to make her dream come true.

Many thanks to everyone who took part in our HMIe inspecation last week.
Mrs Wallace has recieved some initial feedback from the lead Inspector and informed staff and pupils it was a positive report.
The school will recieve the published report on Tuesday 26th August and it will then be available online,Tuesday 2nd September.
Well done to all the young people who took part in the Grow Cook Eat Showcase on Friday.
The young people helped to prepare a 2 course lunch for invited guests and parents.
A slideshow was shown of the skills the young people worked on over the year and then they were awarded certificates from West College Scotland and Training Centre, Rouken Glen.
Preparations are under way for the annual GROW COOK EAT Showcase………..
Senior students are busy in the kitchen preparing a 2 course lunch for parents and invited guests.
Before the lunch begins certificates will be presented to all the young people who took part in the year long skills for life programme and a slideshow will be shown highlighting their progress over the year.

Good luck to some of our senior pupils who are attending the SDS National Athletics Championships at Grangemouth today.
They have been practising well and have been lucky to use the training facilities at Eastwood and Williamwood High Schools.
We wish them well in the competition today, we are proud of all your efforts.
Our next Parents’ Evening will take place on Monday 9th June.
Appointments will have been sent out via your child’s diary.

Our annual Grow Cook and Eat Showcase will take place on Friday 6th June for invited parents and guests.
This will allow our young people to showcase the skills that they have been working on throughout the past year during Hospitality at West of Scotland College and Horticulture skills at Rouken Glen.
The menu looks amazing ……………. so make sure you taste some of the delicious dishes that our uoung people will be preparing.
A slideshow of the pupils work will be shown at the event.
Man’s World will be in school on Thursday 5th June from 10-12am.
This will allow parents/carers to order and purchase school uniform for next term.
