Primary 6.21 have throughly enjoyed working with Nicole from Whitecraigs rugby club over the last 4 weeks.

Primary 6.21 have enjoyed deepening their understanding of Victorian Inventions by researching an invention that interests them. They looked at why the invention was created, how it improved the lives of those who used it and how has it been adapted and developed to suit modern life.
Primary 6.21 have been consolidating their understanding of a variety of mathematical concepts by creating their very own maths journals. As part of the learning process Primary 6 have enjoyed sharing their understanding of the concepts with their peers by taking part in a walk about talk about.
Primary 6.21 have moved onto their second Mearns Masters pathway of the year, The Coders. They shared their understanding of coding using a Jamboard and enjoyed sharing their understanding with the class.
Primary 6 were given their design brief and got to work on creating a storyboard to collate their ideas. They then enjoyed tinkering with the sphereos, scratch and lego robotics.
Primary 6.21 have been learning about the Victorian Era and enjoyed presenting their knowledge to the class in the form of a solo talk. The class enjoyed selecting the focus for their research and loved the independence that this provided.
Over the course of the year Primary 6.21 have been developing their hockey skills. They have been focusing on controlling the ball, dribbling, shooting and tackling.
They have been building up their skills in order to start playing small games of hockey and have enjoyed sharing their understanding of the importance of effective communication while playing a team game.
Primary 6.21 took part in Maths week Scotland and thoroughly enjoyed the activities that they took part in.
Each morning the class were given a new daily challenge and enjoyed sharing their approaches and solutions.
Primary 6 were tasked with creating what is known as curves of pursuit. They had to create a piece of artwork using a repeated pattern of a 2D shape and reduced the size of the shape by 1cm each time the shape was drawn.
Over the course of the week each pupil completed research on a famous mathematician of their choice. Primary 6.21 were also tasked with researching Aristotle. They enjoyed collating their research and sharing their new found knowledge.
The class were invited to attend a Maths Week Showcase that allowed the pupils to discover the different aspects of Mathematics that other classes studied during Maths Week.
Primary 6.21 have been learning about found poetry. They used a newspaper to create pieces of blackout poetry. They enjoyed sharing their poems with the class and discussed the impacts of sharing their poetry with their peers.
