Â
We have been confident individuals creating some yummy tasty treats for our families!
Â
We were responsible citizens, sharing the ingredients with our peers and carefully spooned the chocolate mix into the cake cases.
Â
We have been successful learners this week during cookery. We made sandwiches, choosing our ingredients and spreading butter on to the bread.
We loved using cutters to making our sandwiches into shapes before enjoying these for snack.
Â
We have had lots of fun celebrating Red Nose Day! Have a look at all of our photos from the day:

We have had lots of fun taking part in different science activities to celebrate Science Week. We were confident individuals making predictions about the outcome of different experiments, and were successful learners following different instructions.
Â
We have had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day!
We read ‘Supertato’ and ‘Room on the Broom’ then were confident individuals and completed lots of fun activities. Our favourite was creating our own ‘Supertatos’!
The primary 2s and 3s in Daisies have loved settling back into school and seeing all our friends again!
Today we celebrated Purple Friday and were responsible citizens when exploring equality. We enjoyed using purple resources to create a beautiful butterfly, and decorating some cupcakes with purple icing.
Good morning Daisies!
We are missing you all lots and hope that you’re doing well.
Below are this weeks home learning activities. Remember, all activities are optional.
Literacy
Phonics
This term, we have been learning all the sounds in phase 2 of the Jolly Phonics programme.
Listen to each of the sounds and practice saying each sound if you can.
Can you find an object in your house that starts with each of the sounds below?
Reading
Access your ‘Giglets’ account (log in sent via email) and read through your new book. You may have been assigned some questions about the book too- these will be available in your ‘task’ section.
Numeracy
Ten Pin Bowling Addition
Save ten plastic bottles from your recycling and write a number from 1-10 on each.
Roll a ball to knock over the pins. Can you add the numbers on the fallen pins together?
If you knock over lots of pins, count how many you managed to knock down.
Health and Wellbeing
Explore different parts of your body.
Listen to ‘heads, shoulders, knees and toes’.
Can you point to the correct part of your body as you listen?
On Friday, lots of people around the world will be celebrating Chinese New Year.
Join in the celebrations by creating your own dragon puppet using paper chains. Link the paper together then add a face.
You could make your dragon look even more special by adding glitter, sequins or fancy patterns.
Hi everyone!
Below are home learning activities for this week
Literacy:
Fill the bottom of a tray with flour, or pour some onto a table.
Trace different letters or lines into the flour.
For an added challenge, ask a family member to say different words and try to spell them in the flour.
Numeracy:
Fill a sink or bath with some water.
Collect different bottles, jugs and cups. Use these to explore the volume or water each container can hold.
Health and Wellbeing:
Have fun with your family and practice moving or walking like different animals.
You could walk like a money, slither like a snake or hop like a kangaroo!
Watch the video below for some different ideas.
LGBT:
The month of February is LGBT awareness month.
Listen to the story ‘And Tango Makes Three’ which talks about a family of penguins who are a little different.
Think about who is in your family. You could look at some family photos, or create your own family portrait.
We enjoyed taking part in lots of different Christmas activities throughout December. We created a Christmas showcase to share with our families and enjoying watching the finished showcase in class too.
