We were delighted to host a home football game at the Glens Park against Hillhead PS today.
The boys were over the moon with their 16-1 win. Well done team!

Mary Poppins JR
Cast T-shirts
This year, we are again gifting our School Show cast with Mary Poppins JR T-shirts which they can wear to rehearsals, will wear at the end of the show when all cast are on stage and also as a wee memento to keep to remember their time being part of this experience.
Can parents/carers, please complete the Form below to let us know sizes by no later than Friday 2nd May to let us get the order in.
Rehearsals
Please note that rehearsals will run on a Monday 3-4pm (song practise) and a Wednesday 3-5pm (full stage rehearsals). It is important that all cast members attend. If your child cannot attend a rehearsal, please be courteous and let Mrs McNulty know.
Stage Hands
We are looking for children who would be keen to attend rehearsals to support us with props and staging. If your child would be interested in this, please contact Mrs McNulty by email.
Swimming Lessons
We are delighted to share with you that due to a successful funding application to the Small Wind Farms, every child in our school will receive a 4 week block of swimming at our local swimming pool. Please see the timetable below of when your child’s class will attend.
On your child’s swimming days they must bring in a bag:
- A towel
- Swimsuit/shorts
- Goggles (if they wish to use them)
Parent helpers to support the walking to and from the pool have been arranged, however, they cannot support with the changing of any of our pupils, other than their own.
We ask that if any parents/carers of our infant classes (P1, P1/2, P2/3) wish to come to the pool to support with the changing of their OWN CHILD ONLY prior to or after the lesson is finished, please see the timings below. The class teacher will also be on hand to support with the changing of our infant classes.
Please note that there will not be any phone calls made home for missing swimming bags, as we are sure you can appreciate how busy our office is. Any child who does not have the appropriate kit will sit pool side with their class teacher during the 30 minute lesson.
A huge thank you again to the Small Wind Farms for their generous donation, we know our families will be extremely grateful of their child receiving the opportunity of lessons at no cost to them. ā¤
CJCE P1-P4 Girls Football ClassĀ
The session will run every Thursday from 4:30pm – 5:30pm. Our all girls session will focus on building football skills through fun games, teamwork activities and small-sided matches!

Down’s Syndrome Awareness
Today we honoured Down’s Syndrome Awareness by asking everyone to come to school wearing odd socks.
We learned about what it means to have Down’s Syndrome and about what makes us all different and unique.
We are asking our families to, where possible, donate to the Down’s Syndrome Scotland charity using the link below…
FAB Friday 4/4/25
To celebrate the end of term almost here, on Friday, we will be hosting a whole school FAB Friday Get Together, where we will be recognising the Wider Achievements of our pupils .
We want to hear about your child’s successes! Please bring in your certificates, medals or stories about your achievements from this past term.

Lapraik Festival 2025
Today, 3 of our pupils attended the Lapraik Festival in Muirkirk to compete in the verse speaking competition.
We are delighted to share that our pupils were awarded the following prizes:

NEST workshops
Further to our recent visit from Celine at NEST we are delighted to be able to provide parent/carer workshops in school after the Easter break. These will be supported by myself, with Celine checking in every few sessions. In order to try and accommodate as many of you as possible please complete this short survey regarding preferrable times/daysĀ etc. This will allow us to create a time which we would hope to be suitable for the majority of those of you who wish to attend.
Alloway Burns Club – Youth Concert
Following on from our Burns Family Night in school, the newly appointed President of Alloway Burns Club, Jolyn, invited some of our pupils to perform at their annual Youth Concert.
Our young people thoroughly entertained the audience with their verse speaking and singing.
