Euro 2020 (21) Diversity Day!

This year at NCPS, we are celebrating the Euro 2020 (21) kick off! Each class has been given a country participating and on Friday 11th June we will be coming to school in the countries national flag colours!

An example of this would be if a class were given Scotland, they would need to come in wearing blue and white! Unfortunately no football tops are allowed!

In addition to this, each class will complete an activity based on that country! This will link to diversity! Have a look below at which country your class have been given!

Primary 1 (Mrs Johnstone): France

Primary 1/2 (Mrs Armour): Sweden

P2/3 (Mrs Elliott): Spain

P3 (Miss McQueen): Scotland

P4 (Mrs Petrie): Belgium

P4/5 (Mrs Frew): Netherlands

P5/6 (Miss Mason/Mrs Ramsay): Wales

P6/7 (Mr McClure): Germany

P7 (Mrs Clarke): Portugal

Sports Day Covid Style!

This year at New Cumnock, unfortunately we will still not be able to complete our usual sports day over at the Glens Park. However, we have followed Covid protocols and came up with a super alternative! We are going to take part in sports day at school within our class bubbles. All of the information is explained in the video below as well as the document attached!

Good luck to all and remember to wear your house colours on the day you are completing the activities if you can!

RRS: Dog Fouling Campaign!

NCPS have took the first step in making New Cumnock a poo-free zone! This morning P6-7 went a walk around the village and set up some of the poo bag dispensers that we made alongside an informative poster as to why you should lift your dog poo!

A big thanks to NCDT as they provided us with the poo bags! Please feel free to use any of the bags and let us know if they run out and we will fill them back up!

Rights Respecting School Parent and Carer Leaflet!

Please find attached a copy of a leaflet that outlines the most important aspects of Rights Respecting Schools and why we at New Cumnock Primary School integrate the award into our curriculum.

We would also love it if you could send any pictures of how you use the Rights at home. Here are the Rights of the Child below:

RRS: Right of the Fortnight

This weeks right of the fortnight is Article 29:

Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full. It must encourage the child’s respect for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment.

Here is a short video from Emma in P6-7 discussing the key points from this Article and what it means to us! Also, Mary and Megan in P6-7 have also been so kind to create a super informative poster!
