Financial Support

Introducing our New Financial Inclusion Assistant

Nether Robertland Primary and the associated Schools and Early Childhood Centres now have the services of a Financial Inclusion Assistant, Scott Finnie from East Ayrshire Council. Scott is offering free confidential advice to all families and pupils

Scott can provide advice regarding-

  • Free School Meals/Clothing Grants
  • Education Maintenance Allowance
  • Best Start Grants
  • Scottish Child Payment
  • Wider benefit entitlement in general
  • Support and representation to challenge benefit decisions
  • Support with Debts.

Scott can check your entitlement with you and support you to make claims or check on claims that you may be having problems with. Scott can also support you to access help with multiple debts or advice on fuel provision and energy savings.

New Safer Schools App

The new Safer Schools Scotland app gives empowering, current and informative information on current digital platforms/tools/apps in an accessible manner. Within the app there are different users. Please find below details about how to download the app and set everything up. The link below provided additional information to help.

– Go to your app store or Google Play and search for ‘Safer School Scotland’
– Set up your account
– In the school field type ‘Nether Robertland Primary’
– The code for Primary Parent/Carers is 2116
– To receive notifications we recommend enabling push notifications

FITBA FIRST – KILMARNOCK FOOTBALL CLUB

Fitba First sessions at Kilmarnock Football Club this Easter holiday.
These sessions will take place at Rugby Park Stadium, from Monday – Friday each week from 10am-2pm.
Programme 1 – Monday 3rd to Friday 7th – 20 places available (£60pp).
Programme 2 – Monday 10th to Friday 14th – 20 places available (£60pp).
Fitba First is a 5-part programme incorporating vital First Aid training for young people and gaining leadership skills and experience. Educational and football-focused elements include learning outcomes such as enhanced understanding of nutrition, first aid training, increased social interaction, teamwork skills and improved fitness.
The total cost per young person for the full week is £60 per person, which is inclusive of a footballers lunch each day, payable by invoice after the event.

RED NOSE DAY 2023

We took part in Comic Relief 2023.  We raised the sum of £231.50!  We had a fun day and  we had lots of activities.  Mac in P6 guessed the number of sweets in the jar – 283 and Mia in P4 guessed the birthday of the teddy – 12th June.  Thank you to everyone who donated!

Our Scots Language Poetry Celebration

Our whole school focus on Scots language culminated with the sharing of poetry during our Scots Language Celebration Assembly. We are super proud of all of our children and young people who shared their learning in class and during the Assembly. They did this with confidence and demonstrated great skill in reciting poetry. Well done to every runner up and finalist.

We are working on the the video for this at the moment. 

LOOKING FOR FOOTBALLERS!

Stewarton Annick girls are looking for girls born 2013 and 2014 to join our U10s 7-a-side team.Come along join our family and have great fun. No experience necessary, although being able to pose for team photographs is a must!contact the club on social media or James Taylor on 07545264231.

Aristos Fitness – P6 Classes

Both P6 classes are looking forward to their health and fitness sessions delivered by Aristos Fitness in our Stewarton community. These will take place on a Monday in school and the plan is for our classes to visit the Aristos gym towards the end of the block of sessions.

Our House Mascots

Last session, our pupils took part in a competition where they were asked to design a mascot for their House. The winning designs were selected by last session’s House and Vice Captains. They decided that there would be a P1 – P3 and a P4 – P7 mascot for each House. The winning designs were announced last session. This session, we are now proud to share the digital designs. Math-a-thon Fundraiser

We are delighted to share that thanks to you, we have raised £2580. We will be busy over the coming weeks speaking to our children and staff, to decide on what Maths resources we are going to purchase.

P5M – Exploring Textiles and Technology

As part of our exploration of textiles and technology, P5M have taken a keen interest in how we can link sustainability into all aspects of our lives. For our first task, we took one of our old t-shirts and recycled it by using it create a shopping bag. By making a few simple alterations using a sewing machine, we have repurposed something old into something new and exciting. We will continue with this project before moving on to look at how nature can play a role in enhancing new projects with textiles.

Welcome to session 2022/2023

We are excited to welcome back all of our young people and families to this new session. We hope that you have had a lovely summer and are looking forward to getting back to school this week.

We are delighted to welcome our new members of staff this week; Miss Caldwell (P5C), Miss Wallace (P6W), Miss Barrett and Miss Fyvie.

Start of Session Arrangements

  • Wednesday 17th August – Staff in-service day
  • Thursday 18th August – Pupils return
    • School starts at 9am and finishes at 3.15pm
    • There will be a ‘soft’ start’ between 9am – 9.30am for our new P1 pupils
    • Photo opportunity – There will be balloons in the playground for you to take a photo alongside of your child
  • Entry/Exits points for classes
    • Please see the plan below for where your child will enter and exit their classroom

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Pupils are encouraged to come to school prepared to learn with stationery and a gym kit. We also ask that gym kits be kept in school. Please see your child’s gym days below.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • We would like to offer our parents/carers an opportunity to come into school to meet their child’s teacher and to receive some important information about the class routines etc. If you can make it along, please come to the main reception on the date and time below for your child’s class.

 

 

 

Communication

As a school, we communicate in the following ways:

App – To provide instant information which includes diary dates, messages, news items and ways to communicate with the school.

Blogs – Whole school Blog provides information about all aspects of our school. Our P1 and P2 classes have their own class Blogs and you will find the link to these from the whole school Blog in the menu tab.

Teams – Pupils in from P3 to P7 will be part of a class Team and this is where you will find class information including homework, class updates etc.

Twitter – To share successes and learning. Our Twitter handle is @NetherRob_ps

ParentPay – We operate an online payment service called ParentPay, allowing you to pay for trips, school meals, uniforms and much more. This will be set when you child starts school.

Rascals

Rascals is available before and after school for those who require childcare out with the school day. You can contact Ainsley on 07949 334945 and rascals.manager@gmail.com.

 

Over the summer holiday, the infant end of the school has been refurbished and it is looking great. We can’t wait for you to see the improvements. The first opportunity for this will take place during our ‘Meet the Teacher’ sessions.

I would like to take this opportunity to inform the school community that Mrs Shaw is now Mrs Beveridge.

 

DYSLEXIA COMPETITION INFORMATION

Dyslexia Scotland competition for children

 

Competition time!

Time to get creative and learn some skills in the process. Dyslexia Scotland is holding a competition for dyslexic young people aged 16 or under to design the cover of their Autumn members’ magazine. Mental Health Awareness Week 2022

Mental Health Awareness Week takes place this year from 9th – 15th May. The theme for 2022 is loneliness, its effect on our mental health and how we can play a part in reducing loneliness in our community.

Children will be taking part in a variety of activities over the week to explore this theme and learning will be shared via Twitter.
