IT’S NATIONAL NUMERACY DAY!!

The UK’s first ever online festival to help the nation with numbers is available right now on www.numeracyday.com

The Festival is being kicked off by National Numeracy Ambassador Rachel Riley, with later appearances from the likes of Martin Lewis, Bobby Seagull, Lauren Child reading from her Charlie and Lola and Ruby Redfort maths-focussed books, Carol Vorderman answering questions about unlocking maths confidence, Maths for Mums and Dads author Rob Eastaway sharing tips on how to teach maths at home, the Bank of England’s Andy Haldane helping with household finance and more. Even Amazon’s Alexa will be joining in by answering questions about numeracy.

The National Numeracy Day Virtual Festival covers three areas people want support with during this challenging time: helping children; personal development; and getting to grips with household finance. It aims to help everyone feel a bit better about their number skills.

Why not see for yourself!

National Numeracy Day – Wednesday 13th May

During lockdown, you have been busy using many of your numeracy skills & learning in different ways at home & this is a great achievement that we want to celebrate!
So this National Numeracy Day, we want to show off your wonderful learning by putting together a video of all of your photos of your baking, shopping, shape hunts, etc!
To be a part of this, please send photographs to Miss Millar by emailing the address below by 1pm on Tuesday 12th May:

Welcome to the new week!

Monday 11th May

Good morning to all of the children, parents and carers of Mauchline PS & ECC. We hope you are all staying safe and managing to have some time to relax as well as continuing to learn wherever and however you can.

Here is a poster to remind you of the best way to keep your hands germ-free.

Remember to check the blog page for your child’s class – they contain fabulous ideas and activities to keep the children learning at home.

All classes now have a ‘Teams’ page that allow the children to post comments and completed work within a safe and secure environment. See the previous blog posts about Glow and Teams to get you logged in.
