Primary 7 will be running a stationery shop for their Micro-Tyco enterprise topic next week (from Monday 10th – Friday 14th). If you follow the link below you will find pictures that show some of the items that will be in the shop, and even more will be added by Monday.
Prices will be between 10p and £2. Pupils will get a chance to visit each day if they have money and the shop will be restocked with popular items so that children don’t miss out. Thank you in advance for your support.
For autistic people like me, the world can be a terrifying place. Sometimes sounds feel like my head is exploding. Clothes feel like my skin is burning. And when a tiny thing changes, it feels like my world is ending.
Sometimes I get too much information. And if you only see a naughty kid, you haven’t got enough. #AutismTMI

This term Primary 4 are taking part in a Heritage Hero Award about ‘Our village Drongan’. We need information or photographs about Drongan in the past. If there is someone you know who was a miner or knows about Mining Life or anything at all can you please send us photographs or a short video telling us about it? Our final presentation will be posted for all to see.
Our school meals menus are changing from 19 April 2021 and will run on a three weekly cycle (see attached menus below). Please note that we will be on Week 2 from Monday 26th April.
The price of a standard two course meal in all schools is £2.15. Please remember that all children in P1-3 are entitled to a free school meal.
At the moment we have reduced our menus slightly, but where available we will continue to use organic, local and seasonal produce and have designated meat-free days.
All our main meals/snacks are served with two fresh seasonal vegetables/fresh salad and a piece of fruit
Every day we offer a pick and mix sandwich option, salad dishes, yoghurt, fresh fruit and free bread
All meat on offer is sourced from local butchers with our chicken Red Tractor assured halal meat
Huge well done to the boys and girls and their families that took part in our Easter Community Orienteering Challenge organised by the RRS/Health Committee.
Jandre Coetzee P1a, Jackson Stevens P1a, Finlay Muir P1b, Seren Anderson P1b, Darcie Mair P1b, Harry Irwin P2a, Riley Smith P3a, Jessica Gemmell P4, Jayden Smith P5 and Ava Kiltie P5.
The Rights Respecting school committee were out and about in Drongan today taking pictures in and around our community.
We have put all the pictures together and we are encouraging you to get together with your friends or family and go on an orienteering hunt around the village to find the images. When you find them, tick them off and take a picture or a selfie of you at the spot. Some are trickier than others!
Please see the attached poster for further information of Active Schools outdoors Easter holiday sessions – in partnership with Drongan United. Booking is essential via the Smart survey link below. Please do one form per child.
Now that we have welcomed all our pupils back to school, we would like for them to complete a simple well-being check in form as part of their homework this week. Children will be told about this in school this week and shown the form.
This form will allow us to check how our pupils are feeling based on the 8 well-being indicators -Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respected, Responsible and Included.
This is a simple form that P4-7 children should be able to complete independently. However, we would encourage the parents of our P1-3 children to sit alongside them as they complete this and support where needed.
If pupils could click on the link below to complete the form before Friday 2nd April that would be much appreciated.
Tomorrow (19th March) we will be taking part in Red Nose Day activities to support Comic Relief. All of our children will get the chance to take part in different activities in school, which will raise awareness of the work the charity does to support people in need.
Children are encouraged to take part in a Dress Down Day, where they can:
celebrate being a hero (dress up as their favourite character who is a hero to them)
dress up a bit silly (think odd socks & shoes, different coloured clothes or a funny hairstyle), or
just come to school in casual clothes
We are asking for a donation to be made (suggested £1), which will be given to Comic Relief. This can either be made through Parent Pay or paid in cash on Friday.
“Funny is Power. Funny can change things. It can connect us. It can be the difference.”
As it is Comic Relief, we would love it if the children prepared a joke that they could share with their class and teachers. We will be sharing pictures from the day on twitter.
Today the staff and pupils are taking part in an Autism Awareness Day at Drongan PS.
