Drongan Primary Lockdown Hub

The hub kids have been working with Mrs Brady to plant up all the flower containers.  The school will look fab when we all return in August.

Getting beds ready for planting

On Tuesday 2nd June the sun was shining again, so Mrs Brady got the kids to take some of the school toys outside into the playground to give them a through clean.

Also taking advantage of the gorgeous weather the Tuesday hub kids were kept busy weeding and tidying at the front of the school then they positioned some small bug hotels that had been donated to the Nature Club by Jack and his family.

Monday 1st June saw the Hub children and Drongan staff delivering the donated activity packs to all the primary children in the village.

The children also completed a task from the Right of the Week (Article 7) by creating an Identity Hand each.

On Friday 28th May the boys and girls got their hands mucky while making bird feeders with Miss Dyce.  Once the feeders were made they were taken outside and hung around the school.

On Tuesday 26th May, the hub kids enjoyed watching themselves on the fashion show video on a Promethean Board.

On Monday 25th May the hub kids made caterpillars with Mrs McKellar.

Thursday 21st May – today’s focus with Miss Adams was mindfulness. The children enjoyed doing some Cosmic Yoga and DIY tie-dying using pens, elastic bands and baby wipes! The results are fab.

Wednesday 20th May – Wow, what a busy day!  The kids, along with Mrs Brady and Mrs Hainey, were helping the ladies of Helping Hands to box up a selection of crafts for distribution to the primary children in Drongan.  The crafts were donated by Coalfield Community.

Tuesday 19th May – the children were writing envelopes to send hug letters to their friends.

The boys at Drongan Hub have been up-skilling their dance moves with Mrs Brady and imoves today (13th May)

After all the excitement of planting seeds at the hub with Mrs Brady this morning (12th May) it was time to get to work with some reading and @eacreativeminds mindfulness/kindfulness activities.

Mason and Carter are lost in thought.

Reece was working hard on Bug Club today.

The kids were planting seeds with Mrs Brady today.  A special thank you is owed to one of our parents, Adele Young, and M&S.

Mason, Millie and Carter made felt shaped pockets and used other crafts to fill their pockets with messages.  We took a walk to the pharmacy and hung the pockets up which the staff were very happy about. – Miss Dyce

Miss Adams worked with the kids to create a short movie today, with Jack McVey as official camera man. It’s well worth clicking on the link and make sure you have the sound on.
