Our Curriculum – What We Are Learning

We are building our Curriculum using Dumfries and Galloway Education Department’s ‘5 Elements’ model.

Our Curriculum Overview is ‘ a work in progress’ and is reviewed, evaluated and updated each term as staff and pupils work together. Level and Whole School reviews are held termly to ensure our curriculum provides :

  • Challenge and enjoyment
  • a Breadth of experiences
  • continuous Progression
  • opportunities for Depth by developing different types of thinking and learning
  • Personalisation and choice through responding to individual learning needs
  • a Coherent experience by linking different aspects of learning and applying skills
  • Relevance by learners understanding the purpose of their activities and how it applies in the past, present and future.
