This will begin on Monday 3rd October and run through to Friday 7th October inclusive. The intention of this initiative is to encourage pupils to walk or cycle to and from school, where it is safe to do so.

Dates for your Diary
Wear your Jeans for Genes Day
We are supporting the Jeans for Genes Day and this will be held on Friday 7th October. Children can wear their jeans to school if they bring a donation. This charity supports children with genetic disorders.
Parent Council/Parent Forum Meeting

PACKED LUNCHES
We now have a fridge and this can be used to store pupils’ packed lunches. Please place the lunch in a plastic box.
A New Teacher (again)
Last term P4-7 wrote a description of what they would like as a teacher, one example of which was posted on this blog here.
As the new teacher, I read, marked the work and also took a tally of how many pupils used certain describing words. So for example, the word fair was mentioned by six different pupils.
Above is a Wordle. Wordle allows you to select a piece of writing and counts how often a word is used. It then makes words that are used more often bigger and displays them as a word cloud. In this case, I entered the describing words according to how many times they were used, and the Wordle above displays what P4-7 are looking for in a teacher.

Annual Football Tournament
The Brydekirk Primary Football Tournament will be held on Wednesday 14th September at 4.00pm. We are looking for volunteers to help with setting up, serving refreshments and to referee games. Please contact the school office if you can help.
