Burnside Parent Council needs you!

How to get involved
Joining the Parent Council doesn’t mean coming along to meetings every week.  Helping out might be for a specific event such as the popular Christmas Fayre or the school disco, or auditing our accounts once a year.
It can be as much or as little as you choose.
If you can spare us some time then please feel free to get in contact or come along to our next meeting.  If you are unable to attend but would like to share your comments, ideas or just to let us know how we are doing then please let us know on our Facebook page or email us at
burnsideparentcouncil@hotmail.co.uk

Primary 7’s Leavers

An emotional end to a brilliant year.  We said goodbye to Primary 7’s class of 2016.  A brilliant P7 assembly with a few tears shed, lots of shirt signing and when the shirt was full, the jumpers were next, and finally it was time to leave.  Some photos at the end of the day…

Burnside’s Got Talent 2016

On Wednesday we held our Burnside’s Got Talent Final.  Big congratulations to this years winners, Ruby and Scarlett.  Huge well done to everyone who entered and to those who made the final.  Lastly, the final act was a bit too late to enter however they still took to the stage and knocked everybody’s socks off.  It was so good that we felt that we should share it with you so without further hesitation, please sit back and enjoy the wonder that is Fiona and Karen!

Oor Wullie Bucket Trail

Oor Wullie’s Bucket Trail is a major public arts event that will see the streets of Dundee and beyond come to life with a spectacle of colour of 50 giant Oor Wullie sculptures in summer 2016. The project, a collaboration between The ARCHIE Foundation, DC Thomson and Wild in Art will capture the hearts and minds of the public and encourage us all to become ‘tourists in our own City’ and attract visitors from all over. The Oor Wullie sculptures will be beautifully decorated by local and national artists as well as household names from the worlds of film, music, art, animation and fashion. From small local companies to national corporations, a whole host of businesses and individuals will have the unique opportunity to sponsor a sculpture that will then be on show for 10 weeks before taking the sculptures to auction to help raise funds for The ARCHIE Foundation’s Tayside Appeal to create a twin theatre suite for the children’s hospital.  Read more about the trail at Oor Wullie Bucket Trail

Carnoustie Golf Hotel kindly sponsored an Oor Wullie for each of Carnoustie’s schools.  Here is Burnside Primary School’s Oor Wullie in the making.
