On Wednesday we held our Burnside’s Got Talent Final. Big congratulations to this years winners, Ruby and Scarlett. Huge well done to everyone who entered and to those who made the final. Lastly, the final act was a bit too late to enter however they still took to the stage and knocked everybody’s socks off. It was so good that we felt that we should share it with you so without further hesitation, please sit back and enjoy the wonder that is Fiona and Karen!
Burnside Primary School was represented by Mackenzie, Melody and Archie at the Interschool’s Golf Competition 2016. It was a very close competition and they came in 3rd Place with a superb score of 43 over 10 holes.
Crispin made a surprise visit to Burnside Primary School yesterday to remind the children to bin their litter. Crispin was hot and tired after a full morning of checking the playground but was pleased to report that the children had made a good job of keeping their playground and school tidy. Well done boys and girls – keep up the good work!
Oor Wullie’s Bucket Trail is a major public arts event that will see the streets of Dundee and beyond come to life with a spectacle of colour of 50 giant Oor Wullie sculptures in summer 2016. The project, a collaboration between The ARCHIE Foundation, DC Thomson and Wild in Art will capture the hearts and minds of the public and encourage us all to become ‘tourists in our own City’ and attract visitors from all over. The Oor Wullie sculptures will be beautifully decorated by local and national artists as well as household names from the worlds of film, music, art, animation and fashion. From small local companies to national corporations, a whole host of businesses and individuals will have the unique opportunity to sponsor a sculpture that will then be on show for 10 weeks before taking the sculptures to auction to help raise funds for The ARCHIE Foundation’s Tayside Appeal to create a twin theatre suite for the children’s hospital.
