GLASGOW SCIENCE CENTER

On Monday the Glasgow science centre came into our school to do science with us. Their names were Ross and Sebastian.  There were lots of fun things when the science centre came in like games, and other information games and stuff like that. They were in our school for about half an hour. They gave us lots of facts about your body and how it works. There was a really cool machine that tested the temperature of your body when you stood in the camera. The hottest it went was black and the coldest it went was white. One of the men drank something really hot then stuck his tongue next to the camera and his tongue was really white. They were asking us lots of questions about quite a few things when they were in out school with us. There was a hospital game where you have to put all the patients in different beds and treat them with different lungs to keep them alive but if you gave them the wrong lung they would die or if you left them for to long the would die. It was very fun having the Glasgow science centre in school. It was also very interesting. We had a great time with them.

TRIP TO THE RSPB!!!!

On Tuesday the 15th of March we went on a trip to the RSPB. We helped planting lots of thing like, cowparsley, nettles and hogweed. We went here because Evie’s dad is teaching us about corncrakes and that is the reason we went to the RSPB reserve.

When we arrived we met the people that work at the RSPB. The people that we met were David, Laura and Dave. Then we went up the hill and started to plant things. We planted the nettles first.  We had to dig holes to plant them in, then we scattered hogweed seeds everywhere.  Finally we planted Iris plants in the stream at the bottom of the field.  We also got to use view-finders to spot Golden Eagles.  It was a great day out!

Mr McDermid Coming to School

Mr McDermid came into school with instruments  and he gave us some instruments and taught us a bit. He gave me a trombone  and he taught me a bit and he gave me a book that can teach me how to play and then a can do it and teach my family. He brought some other instrument and Finlay and James and William and James and me got trombones and Finlay got a tuba.

CALMAC GIFTS.

CALMAC is a ferry company and it delivers people from Islay and the main land. CALMAC was clearing  out the shop and very kindly gave us some of their old gifts. We got the CALMAC gifts on Friday. They gave us the gifts because the shop was closing down and it would be easier.  CALMAC ferries are good to deliver the things to places and deliver the people from mainland to  other islands.  Thanks Calmac!
