On Friday 11th of September P5-7 went to Kilnaughton Beach/Woods To build dens and cook on a fire. We heard about the mess at the woods so we went to clean them as part of our plastics topic.
When we arrived, we were put into groups. In those groups we made dens in different spots all across the woods. We all made group flags to represent our dens. To have a bit off fun, the team with the most rubbish collected won 50 house points!
The woods have a big bit down at the bottom taped of because of all the plastic waste. Then we also went to the beach and had lunch there. Some people toasted apples and peppers. When we where having lunch we were all siting on a big hill and eating our packed lunches. After that we cleaned the beach and made environmental art with the rubbish we collected. After that we all went around looking at everyone’s art on the beach. Then we collected all of our rubbish back in to the bags and took it away so we didn’t leave it a mess. After that we walked back to School in the lovely weather we were lucky to have.
