P6 This Week- 13.9.19

This week P6 have has had fun learning about world war 2. We did drama about the Jarrow march- we had lots of fun doing  it. In maths we have been doing chimney sums and a game called cash register- its a lot of fun!!!. We have got are reading done and are group names called The smarties, the rock stars, the big chungests and the book cubs.We are also reading Friend or foe by Michel Morpurgo with Mrs Smith. We enjoyed watching Connie Huq on Authors Live on Thursday.In P.E we have been doing skipping, sprints, hurrdles, burpies bounces.

P6 This Week 6.9.19

This week Primary 6 have been learning a lot of different subjects. In Numeracy we have been learning about Place Values and Subtraction. We have also been learning about World War II. We have been reading Friend or Foe with Mrs Smith. We have been learning about The Great Depression with Mrs Fraser as well and before the end of the day we done some Drama. In PE we have been doing Fitness and Handball. IN Science with Mr Keast we’ve been learning about sorting different Organisms. For example; a dog goes in the mammal section of Organisms. We’ve been writing about The Mammoth in the Ice, which is a fiction story we made up.

P6 Reflection of our First Week

We have enjoyed seeing our friends again. Our classroom is freshly decorated and we are looking forward to working in it. We are looking forward to being buddies to the ELC children.  We are looking forward to learning and improving ourselves. We are excited about the school show and camp.

This week we have set ourselves goals and created our class charter.

All about school camp

Last week P6 went to school camp. Here’s what we have to say about it.

“I liked the low ropes because it was funny to watch people get muddy.” – Matthew

“My favourite activity was the abseiling because it was exciting and you can control yourself.” – Zoe

“I liked abseiling because you can go down at your own pace.” – Cade

“I really enjoyed the abseiling because it showed me to try everything you’re scared of.” – Logan F

“I enjoyed the zipwire the most because it was very fast and high.” – Aiden

“I really enjoyed the low ropes because we nearly fell in the mud and it was funny.” – Murray

“In archery we had to try and hit the arrow into the bulls-eye and I cut my finger on the bow and it really hurt.” –  Ellie

“My favourite activity was the zipline because you go so fast.” – Jamie

“I liked going to the fire station and the park because I wanted to go into the town.” – Finlay

“My favourite activity was abseiling and it wasn’t that scary but the free fall as a tiny bit scary but I did it and it was very fun.” – Silvester

“I liked the zipline because it was long and tall.” – Kyle

“I enjoyed low ropes because we got to shake everybody into the mud water.” – Eesa

“My favourite activity was the zipline because it was the ufn and scary and the view was great.” – Ainslie

“We went to camp for four days it was cool and fun. I loved the zipline because it was high and fast.” – Hayley D

“I enjoyed the orienteering because we got to explore.” – Calum

“The zipwire is my favourite because it had AMAZING views, you could see for miles, and it felt like you were flying!” – Hayley B

“I loved the low ropes, it’s like an obstacle course with mud and water. I got really dirty!” – Katy

“My favourite was abseiling because I thought that I was never going to do it but I did and it was very fun.” – Lewis

“The abseiling was really fun and nervous.” – Logan Y

“My favourite activity was the zipline because it felt like being in Mission Impossible.” – Rowan

“I enjoyed the zipline. I felt scared at first but I did it.” – Charlie

“I enjoyed the orienteering because you had to work as teams to find every sign.” – Cameron

“I loved the 300m zipwire. It felt like mission impossible.” – Luke

“My favourite was the low ropes because we got muddy.” – Callum L

We did Basketball in PE this week.

“I enjoyed doing Basketball in P.E as we got to practice doing shots and we also played games.” – Murray

“I liked doing doing dribbling in basketball in P.E.”- Callan

“This week we played basketball. I really enjoyed it because we got into groups of three and we then did drills working as a team.”- Hayley B

“I liked doing three man waves in basketball and I liked teaching everyone.”- Logan F

“I loved basketball because that is one of my favorite sports and it is tiring”- Silvester

“This week the basketball team showed the class a basketball drill called three man weave.” – Cade

“In PE we were doing Basketball and we were doing rehearsals for our school show. I enjoyed watching the rehearsals because some were funny.”

“I loved doing Basketball because we played games and I scored a basket.” – Lewis

“This week we did Basketball. We did the 3 man wealth drill.” – Logan Y

“The Rock Bottom rehearsals were interesting and cool.” – Finlay

“I really enjoyed doing the rehearsals for our P6/7  show Rock Bottom. We practised the songs and acting and I got the part I wanted. I was very happy.” – Katy

“I enjoyed the Rock Bottom rehearsals because the songs are fun to listen to.” – Aiden

“I enjoyed the show rehearsals because it was funny at parts.” – Calum

“I love Spelling City because the games are really awesome!” – Ellie

“I enjoyed getting my job for the show! My job is backstage.” – Jamie

“I quite liked doing Spelling City because it had really good games like hang the mouse.” – Rowan.

“This week I liked doing Spelling City because the games are fun and it also teaches you.” – Kyle.

“This week we did Spelling City and I enjoyed it because we got to race to the end with our friends.” – Ainslie.

 

 

 

P6 Weekly Reflection

We are lucky enough to be getting a Robo constructions workshop tomorrow so we are writing our blog a day early.

 

This week ten people in our class were chosen  from the Handball club to go to a competition.

“On wednesday I went to handball club and it was magnificent, also we did loads of fun games.”-Ellie

“I enjoyed doing the Handball competition and it was fun!”-Finlay

“I enjoyed scoring goals in the handball festival.”-Jamie

“I enjoyed going to the handball tournament because it was challenging.”-Calum

“On tuesday we went to a handball festival and came 3rd but its was fun.”-Cade

“This week some of P6 HandBall team went to a tournament and I scored lots of goals. “-Callan

“I liked going to handball and doing gymnastics.”-Logan F

“On tuesday I went to the handball league I enjoyed playing matches.”-Eesa

“The handball was fun we won some games and I scored 5 goals!”-Logan

“On wednesday I went to the handball club for testing our skills and coordination, I really enjoyed handball this week! We even done some tig!”-Hayley B

“Some of us went to a handball tournament today. We won one game against Carmondean.”-Zoe

“This week ten people including me went to the handball and won one game against Carmondean, the best team there!”-Ainslie

 

We all did some WW2 Drama this week.

“This week I enjoyed World War 2 Drama.”-Mathew

“Drama was the highlight of this week for me because we did some really fun ww2 things like, Roleplaying and making emotions. It was really amazing!”-Aiden

“Drama is really fun and if you put your hard work and flow into it, it turns out to be good at the end!”-Callum

“This week we were doing ww2 drama and we were putting together our three scenes in our groups. It was a really good drama lesson!”-Sri

In P.E this week, we did some Gymnastics and some of us also did dancing.

“I enjoyed going to dance class and having Miss Greig as a teacher!”-Charlie

We did some didbook this week, reflecting on the past weeks learning.

We have been reading Friend or Foe again this week as part of our literacy.

“I enjoyed writing about a friend or foe diary entry and doing drama about it as well.”-Murray

“I had fun writing a letter to David’s Mum about the Germans, I found it easy to do because i read along when Ms Greig is reading so I can keep up with the story.”-Katy

 

This week we got given our school show scripts.

“This week I really liked when we got our school schow scripts and really hope I get Lady Lava.”-Natalie

We had a shot at more number talks this week,

“We did some number talks, kinda hard to do but it was fun!”-Hayley D

“I liked learning how to multiply decimals because it was real life sums for our Christmas Fair Enterprise.” – Callum

“In maths this week we had to work out how much money we would need to spend on the ingredients to make some home baking for our Christmas Fair Enterprise.” – Charlie

“I liked maths this week because we had to work out which shop was the cheapest place to buy our ingredients from.” – Lewis
