Christmas Cards and Gifts

There was much excitement today as the children’s Christmas cards arrived.  If you didn’t get yours they will be sent home with your child tomorrow.  The Parent Council are aware of errors in printing and would ask parents to contact them so they can work with the company to organise a refund.  They apologise for any inconvenience and upset this has caused.  The school would like to thank those who have supported this fundraising venture and hope everyone has a lovely festive break.

Chocolate Friday – November 27th

Friday 27th November will be ‘Chocolate Friday’.  Children can come dressed down but instead of £1, it would be much appreciated if they could bring a chocolate donation for the Tombola stall which we will hold in school on Friday 4th December.

If your child wishes to participate in the Chocolate Tombola on Friday 4th December, they should bring their money in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with their name and how many tickets they wish to purchase.

Further news of our Christmas class enterprise items will follow in the near future.

Thanks for your support with our Christmas fundraising.

Fundraising Christmas Cards

UPDATE: We are aware of some parents having issues when trying to order their products. Please email the company directly on info@chameleoncreate.co.uk who will be happy to resolve these for you. Thank you for supporting the school with this fundraising venture.
The shop is now open – for 5 days – for you to order your Christmas cards, gift wrap and gifts! This is a great fundraising opportunity for our school so we very much appreciate your support!
You will need the flyer that came home with your child yesterday! Don’t forget, the shop is only open for 5 days!!
It is hoped that we will have the cards/gifts to be delivered to you via your child at school on 7th or 8th December, which should allow you enough time to get your cards written.
THANK YOU for your support!

Primary 4 – w.e. 13.11.2020

Good afternoon,

What P4 have been learning this week:

In numeracy, we were learning our three times tables off by heart. We were working on our four and six times tables as well, through visual aids like arrays and groups and dividing as well as multiplying. In maths, we were learning time to five minute intervals and writing the time digitally and using analogue clocks too.

In literacy, we were using our listening and talking skills to show respect during Armistice day. We watched an assembly, were respectful of the two minutes silence and to those who died so that we could live. We watched a video which was an animation about wildlife in fields during the war to explain to the class, in a child friendly manner. In literacy, we have started our reciprocal reading books, we learned the difference between predicting and inferring when looking at a text.

In languages, we were learning French and we have started a six week block of Spanish lessons from Senor Reavell who is a languages teacher at Inveralmond High School.

In PE, we have been learning our birthday chance dance and have started incorporating what we have been learning in music and in dance in a game called ‘hip hop circle’.

In music, as we are not allowed to sing in school to follow Covid restrictions, we have been learning about the rhythm and the beat. We were learning through videos supplied by NYCOS, to create rhythms with our bodies. This week we did a ‘pease pudding’ rhythm with clapping and patting, then added on our own moves.

E – I have enjoyed painting and printing on to paper, the fish this week because it was fun.

P – I enjoyed learning the four times tables this week, because I didn’t know I would be doing the four times tables in P4.

S – I enjoyed PE this week because I liked creating my birthday chance dance.

A – I enjoyed learning more about division, because it was a challenge.

E – I liked learning about remembrance day, because we got to watch video’s about remembrance day.

A – I enjoyed learning about maths this week and doing arrays.

J – I liked placing the poppy pebble we made down at the church.

A – I enjoyed playing hip hop circle in PE.

L – I enjoyed playing ‘stop the clock’ in Maths when we were learning time.

A – We were learning our three times table off by heart.

Here are some photos of the past week:

Have a lovely weekend!

P4 – w.c. 26.10.2020

Good afternoon,

Here are some of the amazing things P4 got up to on Halloween week!

STEM activities in small groups to build a bridge using pipe cleaners, cotton buds and pegs. It needed to stand by itself, hover, they needed to make it in 30 minutes and make it as long as possible!

Halloween spooky free writing. I was so impressed by the costumes and the spooky stories that the class created. Well done! Amazing effort!

Well done to our competition winners!
