Good Afternoon. P1 have been very busy this week. In Literacy we have been practising the ea, ee, oy, oi and split diagraphs a-e, i-e, o-e and u-e. We used our magnetic letters to build words, wrote words on our whiteboards, played roll and read and snakes and ladders and sorted real and nonsense treasure.
In Numeracy we have been looking at the problem solving strategy of look for a pattern. We made peg patterns, coloured patterns to find the rule on strips, made necklace patterns and sorted out Bobbie Bear’s outfits.
On Tuesday afternoon with Mrs Smith we sorted living and non-living things into a Carroll Diagram. We have explored the story of Katie Morag and Tiresome Ted. We then drew pictures of our favourite toys and spoke about why they were our favourite toys. On Friday we went to assembly where we learned about Earth day and the charity World Vision.
