Mad about Magnets in P3

Primary 3 were very excited to find out that they were going to be learning about magnetism in Science this term.  We quickly got to work to brainstorm what we already knew about magnets and what questions we had.  These questions are helping us to plan our investigations.

The most common misconception that we had was that all metal objects would be magnetic.  Some of us suspected that this may not be true but we had to investigate to find out more.

Ask us to tell you what we discovered!  Are all metal objects magnetic?  Why are only some coins magnetic?  What do the terms “attraction” and “repulsion” mean and what do they have to do with the North and South poles?
