Class Learning in P2B

Hello everyone,

We have had a super first week back at school following our period of remote learning from home. We have managed to come back to school with a positive attitude and with a hunger to learn. This week we have shown resilience to come back to school and get back into a routine, even with lots of changes happening on a daily basis.

Take a look at what we have been learning this week:

Literacy: We are learning to know what a question is and how to form our own questions.

We created our own questions about ourselves for our learning partner to try and answer. This was a great activity which we enjoyed. We got to learn lots about our friends.

Maths: We are learning how to recognise and describe 2D shapes.

This week Miss Walkingshaw set us a challenge to look for everyday 2D shapes in outside in the playground. We did a great job of this!

Modern Languages: We are learning to know the days of the week in French.

Ms Livingstone took us for French this week. We enjoyed learning more new language in French following on from all of our hard work on Seesaw.

Technology: We are learning how to create a character from a novel.

Mrs Martin took us for Technology this week. We enjoyed learning how to create a character using our imagination. We focused on the main character from our new topic: Willie Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Here are some of our amazing drawings:

What a super first week back! Have a great weekend.

P2B Learning – 8th February

Good afternoon P2B, parents and carers,

We have had another fun filled week of activities. Although we had lots of school work to complete we managed to fit in plenty of time to play outside in the snow.

This week we have been counting down to the February break however that didn’t mean our hard work  stopped. Below is some of our hard work from this week.

Literacy: We have been learning how to read and spell magic e with an ‘o’ words.

Literacy: We have been learning how to write an imaginative story.

This week we wrote the ending and reflection of our story. Our writing is amazing and we hope you think so too!

Numeracy: We have been learning how to form arrays.

Numeracy: We have been learning how to make equal groups of 4.

From the additional activities grid:

Modern Languages (Spanish): We have been learning how to say your name and age in Spanish.

Art and Design: We have been learning how to draw real life creatures.

Well done on another week of amazing work P2B! You are surprising me more and more each week. Have a great holiday and keep safe.

Kind Regards,

Miss Walkingshaw

P2B Remote Learning from home

Good morning everyone,

I would like to say a massive thank you for all of your hard work over the past week. The work you have uploaded to Seesaw is amazing and you should be proud of yourselves.

Thank you to parents/carers who have supported the learning this week as I know how difficult times are at the moment. All of your hard work does not go unnoticed.

Here is some of our work from this week:

  • Learning our new sound ‘soft g’.

P2B Phonics Sound 7th December

Good morning,

Please see below  our second sound for this week: ‘ou’ and ‘ow’.

Please support your child to practise reading and writing these words at home.  Try to  focus on sounding out to blend the sounds together. If the children are confident reading and writing the words, they may wish to write sentences with their words to challenge them further.

These have also been posted on Seesaw for you too.

P2B Phonics

Good morning,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Please find attached one of our new sounds for this week – ‘ee’ and ‘ea’.

Spelling-Words-ee-and-ea

If you could further practise these at home this would offer additional support to your child in their learning. You may wish to do this through games or practising writing and reading the words. Focus on sounding out and blending each word to improve their independence.

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss Walkingshaw

P2B Phonics

Good morning,

Another update from P2B (apologies!)

This week will be focusing on two new sounds during our class learning time. We will be learning the following sounds:

‘oi’ and ‘oy’

Spelling-Words-oi-and-oy1

‘oo’

Spelling-Words-oo

Please try your best to support your child at home by practising how to sound out and blend each word. You may wish to play a game with them to practise these words (ie cover up game). Practising writing each word from knowledge will also help your child to remember these important sounds for when they are reading.

Thank you for your continued support.
