P7S Visit to Sky Academy

Lights,Camera,Action!  P7S  were fortunate enough to visit Sky Academy this morning to produce their own News Report on Cyberbullying. Each group were assigned their own studio and roles. From Directors, Producers and Editors to Camera Operatives, Presenters and Reporters. Having previously worked on their brief in school the class were ready to prepare and film their report. It was great to see such amazing teamwork at work and the final cut was both informative and entertaining. Well done P7S!

NURSERY – Parent Fundraising Group Meeting 25th/26th February

A little reminder that our first parent group meetings will be held tomorrow and Wednesday.  This will be a very informal meeting for parents and a staff member to get together and see how much interest/helpers we can gather for raising much needed funds for the Nursery.

We would love to hear your idea’s for fundraising and would be delighted if you could attend either meeting. Refreshments will be available.  Please meet in the nursery and we can use the school parent room.

Tuesday 25th February – 12pm

Wednesday 26th February – 1.30pm

P2W Science Fun with Mrs Beattie

During our Science lessons this term we have been learning about different materials. Mrs Beattie set us a challenge to try and build our very own bridges using different materials.

Each group were given the choice between spaghetti and blue tac or cubes.  By the end of the lesson we were to create our own bridges using our chosen material followed by an explanation as to which method was better and why.

We are looking forward to learning even more about materials over the course of this term!

Literacy Fun In Primary 2W

This week we have been learning how to use a dictionary. We learnt when we would need to use a dictionary and how to use it correctly. Before we could do this we completed BBC Supermovers Alphabet dance to double check we could remember the letters in the correct order.

Miss Walkingshaw set us a challenge in pairs to see if we could find the real meaning behind words we use a lot during our learning. We had lots of fun taking part in this challenge as we were able to do it with our friends. Some of the words were tricky to find but we showed our resilience and kept on trying!

As you can tell we liked it so much we had to take another photograph to show you our smiling faces!

NURSERY – WELLY WALK

We are planning a welly walk with the children to celebrate and try out our waterproof trousers that the PSA kindly purchased.  We will be doing this during outdoor group time on a wet day when there are lots of puddles.  Rather than ask parents to sponsor the children, we are asking for kind donations to help us raise further funds to buy more waterproof trousers.  A donation tub is in the main foyer beside the registers.  Your donations would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
