We have received exciting news that one of our pupils has made it through to the 120 finalists of the Royal Mail ‘Heroes’ Stamp Design Competition! Well done to Lily in P6 🙂 We have our fingers crossed that you make it to the next round (where 24 from the 120 finalists will be announced in November) and hopefully even make it to the final 8 winning stamp designs! An incredible 606,049 entries were received from children across the UK, with an amazing 7,479 schools taking part so to make it through to the 120 finalists is a great achievement – we are very proud of you and love you ‘Heroes’ stamp design.

Well done to everyone who contributed to our first virtual Nativity Assembly.
This morning we held our usual virtual Assembly on TEAMS, however today’s assembly was very different as it was our first Nativity Assembly which was led by the pupils of East Calder Primary School. The Christmas Story was told by pupils from every class and we think that our P1-7 pupils did a fantastic job! You all learned your parts so well and spoke clearly and confidently – great job everyone!!!
A massive ‘THANK YOU’ to our secret helpers who came in to the school playground last Friday to cement down the beautiful painted stones which our pupils and their families did during Lockdown. We were delighted to see the finished result and are sure that you will agree that they have done a fantastic job. On behalf of everyone at East Calder Primary School THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Your help is much appreciated 🙂
Here are some of the photos of our COVID Snake which can be found in the P1-2 playground.
I was delighted to receive this message by email today from our P6 class. Our school are working on developing reading skills and we have purchased some puppets to help the younger pupils understand the skills we are learning about. Our pupils in P6 have come up with the great idea of creating videos to help introduce the younger pupils to the skills they are learning about and using in their reading. I’m looking forward to seeing how the videos turn out! Well done P6 for a great idea – another example of our young learners leading learning in ECPS 🙂
