P3 Learning

Last week we were tested on our hardest table. A lot of us then moved onto a new times table. We wrote all the arrays in our jotters. Today we worked with someone who was on the same times table as us and tested each other on making arrays for different calculations. We then challenged each other on a really hard times table.

We have been learning how to place fractions on a number line. We working in small groups and had to put different fractions on the number line correctly. We started with 0 – 1 and place 1/2 where it should be and then tried with quarters. Some of us were challenged to work in fifths!!

We took part in a Science Week Challenge set by Mrs Beattie.  We were to try to stretch a Curly Wurly as far as we could.  We worked in groups and first measured the size of the chocolate bar.  Then we discussed how we were going to stretch it and what forces we would use.  We predicted what our outcome would be.  Then we set to work.  We had 8 minutes to stretch the Curly Wurly as far as we could.  We then measured it and recorded our answers.  One group managed to reach 120cm!!!
