Science Fun!

Good morning everyone!

As this is our last week I had promised you in class that we would have a fun week of experiments. The biggest request was Elephant’s Toothpaste so I will make this at home this week and I will post the video on the blog and Teams after!

Are there any fun experiments you have wanted to do at home or in school? Now is your chance! Rubber egg? Bottle rocket? Giant square bubble? Exploding volcano? Egg parachute? Dancing Raisins?

There are lots of great ideas here to try too:

Share your experiments with me on Teams or email them into school.

Have fun (and stay safe!)

PE Home Learning – 22nd June

Good morning everyone,

For PE this week, we will be taking part in the Youth Sport Trust’s National Sports Week. There are five different categories of activities and challenges. You can pick what categories and what activities you take part in. I recommend doing at least one activity a day as well as getting outside for walks, jogs, cycles or scoots.

I love seeing your learning so don’t forget to let me know how you got on.

We hope it will be sunny on Wednesday 24th June when you can come along and collect some of your work  or anything that you have left behind in school. We will be in the playground from 12 noon until 2pm. Please don’t worry if you can’t make it. There will be an opportunity to collect things after the holidays in August.

You have  all been amazing over the past few months and we have really missed you. Thank you to everyone who has sent us photos of all the fantastic things you have been doing at home. Well done!

We have loved teaching you all and hope you have fun with the activities on the final home learning grid.

N-P1 Transition Task

N-P1 Transition Task – Final Week

It was lovely to meet many of you last week for our P1 Transition Visits 🙂  We hope you enjoyed spending some time in your classroom and meeting your teacher.
Please see information and links below for this weeks transition activities. These are the last transition activities before the Summer holidays.
The story this week is called ‘The Rainbow Fish’ by Marcus Pfister.
At the beginning of the story, the rainbow fish doesn’t have very many friends but by the end of the story, he has learned to share and has lots of friends.
Can you draw a picture of one of your friends?   Can you write your name and their name too?
You could try drawing a picture of the beautiful rainbow fish or if you have paints at home you could use them to make a finger painting.  Maybe you could cut shiny materials or pages from an old magazine and stick them onto paper in the shape of a fish.
Please click on the link below to listen to the story of ‘The Rainbow Fish’.  We hope you enjoy it 🙂
The rainbow fish has so many colours!   The link below is a favourite song of ours in Primary 1.  How many colours do you know?  We hope you enjoy the song.

It’s a colors song for young children. This song was written and performed by A.J. Jenkins. Video by KidsTV123. Copyright 2018 A.J.Jenkins/KidsTV123: All rights reserved. Parents, the booklet attached below is by Axel Scheffler.   It was written together with Professor Graham Medley (Professor of Infectious Disease Modelling), Head teachers and Child Psychologist Dr Sarah Carman.   It is an accessible booklet which can be read in parts or all at once.  We hope it is useful to you and your family. Please click on the link below to access the booklet.
These Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler poems (in the link below) show familiar characters social distancing.  You may like to share them with your children.
Have a great Summer.  All the P1 team are really looking forward to seeing you in August!

P2 Home Learning Grid

Happy Monday everyone!

We hope you have had a lovely weekend and have enjoyed some of the beautiful weather we have had. Here you have the last home learning grid of Primary 2. Thank you to all of you for your hard work and your efforts during this time. We know how difficult it can be when learning at home but you have done a fantastic job and it is lovely to see you all doing fun activities at home with your families.

Enjoy your last week of Primary 2 and we look forward to seeing some more of the activities you are doing throughout the week.  We also look forward to seeing some of you in school this week if you are able to make it on Thursday for a catch up between 12 – 1:30pm  (see box on grid.)

The only other attachment you will need this week is the Spelling words which includes revision of magic e/CVC words. There is also another copy of the resilience alphabet attached if needed.

Have a great week:)

Home Learning and Fun in P2M

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope you have had a great week and have had fun at home with your families. Thank you to those who are still sending photos of home learning and other activities you have been doing. It is lovely to see so many people still working hard on their learning and I have also enjoyed seeing other activities you are doing at home. Here are a few examples from this week.

Farah has enjoyed working through the resilience alphabet. F has been her favourite so far. This is a great “to do list” of fun activities you can do at home. It looks like you managed to do all these activities throughout the week. Well done!

Your rainbow vegetables are growing so much. You look very proud of your hard work and you should be. This is a great way to demonstrate sustainable living. Well done for all your hard work.

Hudson has also been very busy and working hard this week. He sent a photo of a bird feeding table he made with his dad in the garden. It looks great and he was very proud of himself. Well done Hudson!

Have a great weekend everyone! One week to go until the Summer holidays.
