NURSERY – Fun and Learning at Home

Good Morning Everyone

Here are some suggested activities to give a try.

Build a den – Build a den indoors using a range of materials e.g. sheets, pegs, chairs, clothes horse, table etc or build outdoors using same resources in garden. You could use your den to have some quiet time in (drawing, reading, listening to music, role playing). If you are out a walk in the woods you could try building a den using sticks and/or tarpaulin sheet. L.I I am Learning how to problem solve.

Read – Read your favourite book and then recall/retell the story while acting it out (everyone can have a role). L.I I am learning how to concentrate and listen. I am learning how to introduce a story into my play.

Dance – Show off your best dance moves to your favourite songs. You could also follow dance routines on just dance which the children love to do in nursery. Here are links to some of the favourites in nursery. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=just+dance+disney, https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=just+dance+for+kids L.I. I am learning ways to be active and improve my wellbeing.

Number chart – Make your own number chart/line using loose parts around the house and garden. L.I I have explored numbers, understanding that they represent quantities, and I can use them to count using 1-1 correspondence.

Remember you can also have a look at https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/wl/snonursery/ for more ideas.

Hope you all have a good day

Good Afternoon Everyone

Here are some suggested activities to give a try.

Animal cam – Edinburgh Zoo have set up live cameras on some of their animals which you can watch and discuss. Click on the link > https://www.edinburghzoo.org.uk/webcams/panda-cam/

Go out for a walk and look for signs of spring. What’s the weather like?, what can you hear? And what animals and flowers can you see?. L.I I am learning about different seasons and I can identify the changes in the world around me.

Draw a picture e.g. of an animal/flower you have seen today. L.I I am developing my fine motor control to help get my fingers ready to write.

Match socks – Get your child to help sort the washing or take socks from the drawer, mix them all up and then get your child to match them back up again. L.I I am learning to identify pattern and can match items which are the same.

Hope you enjoy
