Wednesday 27th   Parents Consultation 3-4 year olds

Times available will be between 5.10pm and 6.40pm.  Times can be booked through the member of staff on the door this week.

December

Tuesday 3rd & Wednesday 4th   Nursery Parent Group

Tuesday 3rd afternoon and Wednesday 4th morning we will be holding our first Parent Fundraising Groups. Exact times will be confirmed, please look out for this through the School App and on the Nursery Noticeboard.  We will be looking for support to help with setting up a stall at the School Christmas Fair on Saturday 14th December.  We would appreciate any practical help you can spare to help make up crafts for us to sell at our stall.  Due to the short notice and limited time we will provide what is needed to do this.  We would appreciate any time you can spare to help us pull this off!  This is a great opportunity to meet other parents and have a cuppa and chat in our parents room.  Refreshments will be provided.  Many thanks for your support.

Thursday 5th – Christmas Performance

All children are invited to take part in our Christmas Performance.  Parents of full day children can choose to come to the morning performance @ 11.00-11.30 am or the afternoon performance @ 2.30-3.00 pm.  Please identify your preferred performance on the sheet in the Nursery reception area, as the children will only be asked to take part in one performance.

NURSERY – ‘LOOK FOR A BOOK’

Our little ones have been participating in ‘Look for a Book’ in East Calder this week.

They chose to hide some books in the library!!! We thought this was a great idea, please look out for the free books hidden next time you visit the library.

You too can participate in this fun initiative by buying books from our Book Sale (bags with information also provided) and hiding anywhere in the community.

NURSERY – BOOK SALE

To promote Book Week Scotland and to help raise funds for nursery we are holding a book sale at Nursery this week.

This is set up in the cloakroom area of the Nursery.

Please support the Nursery by purchasing a book or two which can be used to read at home or use as part of the ‘Look for a Book’ initiative.  The money raised will benefit your child by either purchasing new books or equipment.

Many thanks

NURSERY – BIG BEDTIME READ

We are relaunching our bedtime reading initiative during Scotland Book Week this week.  You will find this set up in the reception area of the Nursery.  These are a set of 5 books for you and your child to borrow and share at home as part of their bedtime routine.

The Big Bedtime Read’s aim is to ensure children read a bedtime story at least 4 or more times a week.

You and your child will have access to our Big Bedtime Read packs whenever you wish.  You are free to change your pack at any time.  All we ask is that you record the pack you have borrowed by writing your child’s name and the date you take the pack, in the lending folder.

We hope you take the opportunity to borrow the packs and take advantage of this activity which will greatly benefit your child by

  • Helping them to become a confident reader
  • Establishing a good bedtime routine
  • Improving concentration and behaviour
  • Helping your child develop decision making skills
  • Improving attachment and bonding between parents and children

A Special Visitor

We’ve had a very special visitor today going in and around all the classes at ECPS!  We were delighted when Book Bug came to see us to help us celebrate Book Week.  Some of us read him stories and others just wanted a big cuddle.  Thank you Book Bug, we hope you come back to visit us next year!!
