Parents/Carers, family and friends are invited to P3/4’s assembly on Friday 7th June 2019 @11.15am. We look forward to seeing you there to share our knowledge about our latest topic, ‘Our Planet.’
At the end of last term we reflected on the our progress made in reaching our individual targets. We then had to gather evidence of the different ways our targets were achieved. This week children identified areas of improvement and as a result new targets have been established.
We have been working on a range of number talks strategies and have become more confident to share our findings with one another.
Today, p3/4 along with p3 and p4 visited the Museum Scotland in Edinburgh. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit and had fun exploring the different artefacts on display. We especially enjoyed looking at all the Egyptian displays and learning new information to help us with our topic.
All children behaved well and were a credit to the school. Mrs Morrison is proud of you all!! A big thank you to the parent helpers and support staff who accompanied us, we couldn’t have gone on the trip without you!!
On Friday, we said our farewell to Mrs Murray who had been working with us over the past 6 weeks. We will miss her, but we’re glad she’s going to come on our class trip to the Museum of Scotland on Tuesday 2nd April. Letters about the trip will be sent home next week.
Today, children from nursery to primary 3 enjoyed a visit from author, Regina Nurney. She read her book, The Ladybird who found her spots and we were lucky enough to ask questions about what it was like to be an author.
It has been a busy couple of weeks in P 3/4. We have really enjoyed ‘The Mystery Tour of Scotland’ topic and learned a lot about Scottish Myths and Legends, even transferring our knowledge onto powerpoints!! Mrs Murray then taught us all about the scottish artist, Charles Rennie McIntosh and we made lovely drawings that represented his work. Please have a look at them when you visit our class during parent’s evening.
This week we have begun our new topic, ‘The Egyptians’ and already we have been researching famous people from those times, creating timelines and exploring Egyptian jewellery. We are also excited to be working with p3 and p4 during this topic.
