Read, Write, Count
We loved coming to school in our jammies on Tuesday. All our lessons were about the book ‘ROCKETMOLE’. We created a fact file about ourselves during writing this week. Armstrong the Rocketmole wrote a letter to us asking for our help with addition. We were all every excited to receive our Read, Write, Count Bags.
Literacy
In writing, we were persuading the reader that reading was important. We had a class discussion before we started and we identified all the different ways that we use reading in our everyday life. When included powerful persuasive language and connecting words within our writing.
In P3/2 we worked very hard sounding out our spelling words. We continued with rainbow writing and using our words in sentences. This week, we also found making a chant a useful strategy to help us remember how to spell our words.
Maths
This week, we were learning about addition. When adding our numbers together we found number squares and sticks useful to help us calculate the answer. We were also working on addition word problems.
IDL
In our Vikings topic, we were learning about what food th
e Vikings ate. The Vikings did not have supermarkets like we have today and they could not import food from other countries. Therefore, the Vikings could only get food that they could grow and catch. To keep their meat and fish fresher for longer, the Vikings would salt or smoke them.
