Primary 3 – Wednesday 22nd April

Good morning everyone and Happy Earth Day!!!

Earth Day is celebrated every year on the 22 of April for the last 47 years. In 1970, a US Senator from Wisconsin, created this national day to create awareness of the environment and how we treat nature. Today this day is celebrated as an international event in 193 countries.

I thought in order to celebrate this, it would be a good idea for you to use whatever you have available at home to create your own ‘Earth’ picture. Below are some lovely ideas:

Below is a link to a Minecraft challenge. The challenge involves building your own sculpture for Jupiter Artland. The winning design will join the permanent collection at Jupiter’s online universe plus other goodies.

Literacy – Watch Newsround and find out what is new today – what did you find out? Is there anything you need help understanding? Ask someone at home or Google it.

-Create a bookmark – perhaps you could choose characters from your favourite stories.

-Read a new story today – use your new bookmark to keep your place.

Remember you can access books like the Oxford Reading Tree ones from:

https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/

If you click the Pink icon at the top right that says ‘My Class Login’ and enter Primary 3 Deans as the username and Mrs Hillan as the password then you can access these if you haven’t set up your own account.

Writing Task – see the task on the Blog from Miss Taylor for this week’s writing task on Lucy’s Lockdown

On Thursday and Friday you should hopefully see some tasks put on from Mrs Morrison and Mrs Lockart.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Mrs Hillan
