Primary 1 and Primary 2 are developing their play and learning environments and we would love your help collecting and donating resources that will inspire creativity, imagination and outdoor learning.
If you are out on family walks, we would be very grateful for any of the following natural materials:
- Acorns
- Pinecones
- Shells
- Smooth stones
- Small pieces of wood, branches or wooden slices
These types of resources are wonderful for loose parts play, storytelling, small world play and creative exploration.

We are also looking for donations of pre-loved resources that may be tucked away at home and no longer needed. In particular:
- Dress-up materials and fabrics
- Scarves, loose material and open-ended costume pieces
- Wooden play kitchens
- Dolls’ houses
- Wooden toys and small world resources
- Non-gendered imaginative play resources
- Other open-ended toys that encourage creativity and role play
When donating items, we kindly ask that they are in good condition and, where possible, are open-ended and neutral in design to encourage creativity and imaginative play for all children.

Any donations can be brought to the school office. We greatly appreciate any support from our Calderwood families as we continue to create engaging and inspiring learning spaces for our children.
