Calderwood Chronicle 10_01_25

A very Happy New Year to all of our families and we hope that you had a restful break.  It is lovely to see all of our learners back in school and ready for the term ahead.

Calderwood Commitments:

  • Leven and Rannoch Clan Connects and Sharing the Learning: 9:15-10:15am on 17th Doors Open 9:05am.

Calderwood Calendar:

Calderwood Communication:

  • If your child requires medication, please ensure this is handed into the office and the correct forms are completed. Children should not carry medication in their school bag.
  • In snow or icy conditions access to the school will be through the front door, we will alert parents/ carers/children to this. During these times there will be no supervisors in the playground. You can find our safe route here.
  • PE Days for Term 3 are here.
  • Home Learning: Poems will be for the Calderwood Scottish Poetry Competition issued on Seesaw and Teams on 13/01/25. Home Learning grids will be issued on 20/01/25.

Road Safety:

  • As you will be aware, the roads and traffic around our school can be busy, particularly at key points of the school and ELC day. We encourage families to walk to and from school, where possible. Where driving to school is unavoidable, please be mindful of other road users and pedestrians when moving through our community, and when stopping to drop children off at school. Every child’s safety is of paramount importance and is essential that we continue to work together to ensure all of our children arrive at and leave safely from school
  • In school, we are launching a road safety focus beginning on 20th January 2025, as well as beginning to work on our Park Smart campaign. Throughout our initial launch week, your child will engage in a range of experiences to support their road safety awareness. We will also have an opportunity for every child to contribute an image to be included in our Park Smart banners which will be produced later this term.

Calderwood Compliments:

  • Thank you so much to the Calderwood Community Services team, who put salt down in the playground earlier in the week.
