We’ve had another busy week in Primary ‘Planet’ 7. We’ve been doing assessments in Spelling, Literacy and Numeracy and thankfully they’re coming to an end. Now poor old Mr Hunter has to mark them all and give us feedback!
Although they are quite challenging, these assessments will show where our strengths lie and what areas we need to focus upon. In our class discussion, most of us feel that we can do with more practise on shapes, fractions, decimals, area and perimeter as well as place value. By addressing these issues now, this will make us more equipped when we face more challenging questions.
We’ve also had time to dress up as our favourite Roald Dahl characters. In Literacy, we watched several trailers for ‘The BFG’ and discussed the importance of lighting, music, characterisation and language and, when combined, how they create an effect setting, with memorable characters. Now, we’re going to apply this to our own writing, with a particular focus upon setting, characterisation and plot, as part of our Literacy project when writing our own novel.
