Primary 4 has a fantastic day out at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh on Tuesday.
They enjoyed watching a presentation from Sven and his wife Erika all about Viking life and listened to sagas told by the Vikings. Some of the pupils even got to take part: Aliya “Rumbling Tummy” helped decipher some Viking runes and Chidera learned what life was like at the sharp end of a Viking axe!
After lunch the children had the chance to explore the museum and look at the artifacts left over from the Viking era: brooches, tools and weapons and even a burial site of an important chieftain.
The children had a fantastic day and couldn’t wait to get home and add more to their Viking projects.
