We’ve had another busy week in Primary 4.
In maths, we were learning all about 3D shapes. Not only did we learn the names of some shapes, but we learned new terms such as faces, edges and vertices. We also had to create our own 3D shapes using straws and blu tack.
In PE, we have been learning how to play golf. We were in three different groups and we were focusing upon putting, short-game chipping and chipping. We had to position ourselves correctly with the ball set in front of us, but between our feet. Next, we had to imagine that the golf club was a hand of the clock and we had to swing it. We had to swing the club back to 4 o’clock and finish at 8 o’clock. We had flags to aim for as well as bunkers, out of bounds and water.
We also visited Beechbrae orchard to have a look at what an orchard looks like. We looked at small apple trees and we were told how they are planted and how they are cared for. We also got to look for mini beasts which are needed in an orchard to ensure the trees have food and what insects we need to watch out for. We can’t wait to get our sleeves rolled up and our hands dirty when we begin to plant our trees and build homes for our mini beasts.
