We’ve had a busy week again, learning lots of new things and ideas. Here are a few things which we’ve been doing.
In maths, we’ve been doing some problem solving. We’ve been investigating lots of different ways how to solve problems. These are called ‘strategies’. Some strategies are ‘working backwards’, ‘guessing, checking and improving your answer’ and ‘drawing a table or a diagram’. We’ve been looking at different problems, highlighting the key words and numbers and then deciding what type of sum it is. It’s quite difficult, but we’ve been enjoying this.
Our parent assembly is coming up in March so we have been busy rehearsing. The narrators have been working hard on their lines to make sure the audience will understand the storyline. Our actors have been learning their lines and have been developing their use of expressive language as well as their volume. Even our stage hands and actors with smaller parts have been working very hard too. They have had to follow the script, listen well as they need to know when to appear on stage and have to be in the correct place at the correct time! It’s all a bit frightening and exciting, at the same time, having to learn lines, know where to stand and to have a scripted conversation, but it’s fun and challenging too. We’re really testing all our skills to get an Oscar winning production in place for a few weeks’ time.
