Primary 6 have been investigating all things ‘problem’. Problems exist in everyday life and we have to solve them – some are easier than others, some require discussion and negotiation and others require you to see the problem from a different perspective (a different way).
We have been looking at different strategies to help us solve problems – Looking for Patterns’, ‘Working Backwards’, ‘Making lists or tables’, ‘Making models and diagrams’, ‘Guessing, Checking and Improving’ and ‘Reasoning Logically’.
In groups, we have been given problems to solve and have applied some of these strategies to the problems. Some are easier than others – can you solve the problems at the top of the page? Which problem solving strategies did you use? Good luck!
