Wow! What a busy first term we have had. Primary 5 have been working hard in all areas of the curriculum. We are all enjoying our first topic of the rainforest and have been learning lots. We now know about where the rainforests are in the world and the different layers of the rainforest. We have completed detailed diagrams of the layers and included animals from different classification groups. These have been displayed in our classroom, which we all think looks great!
We have also been busy going to camp and trips to different places. We had the best time at Lowport and enjoyed our day time and evening activities. During the day each group got to do archery, canoeing and go on a woodland walk. At night we went swimming and did lots of walking. After our walk on the second night we stopped off at the park, it was lots of fun! Before bed we would have our supper and watch a movie, the toast was yummy! Mrs Reid and Mrs Marra looked after us all well and needed a well deserved long weekend to recover when they got back.
This week we visited the Museum on the Mound. This was part of our money week activities. We learned a lot about the bank and money. At the museum we got to see a million pounds and thought about what we would spend it on, lots of us (including Miss Hood) thought about going on a holiday to a warm destination. Also we all got to make our own coin which we got to take home.
Primary 5 so far has been busy but lots of fun. Next term we are looking forward to finding out more about the rainforest and getting ready for the Christmas fayre.
Finally, we would like to wish everyone a fun and safe October holiday.
