What a week! We had a great day celebrating Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday. There was much excitement as we spent the day reading stories and doing maths and language activities about ‘The Enormous Crocodile’. The costumes were really impressive.
Two days later, we had a date with the ranger from Polkemmet Park. He took us on a woodland walk to launch our topic. We learned a lot of interesting things about woodland animals and trees. Mrs Gaspar learned that as the holly bush grows older and taller, the leaves at the top get smoother with fewer prickly bits! We had a beautiful afternoon and even had time to stop for a wee play at the park on our way back to school. The ranger said that it was the best P1 class he had ever seen.
To complete our week, the photographer came to take our picture for the newspaper. We look forward to being famous.
Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday weekend!
